Thing is if the team as a whole get used to ''losing'' then there is no way back. Of couse we should give him time but after all these games, getting used to losses, and cementing the losing mentality in the back of players' mind is dangerous.

Nothing is worst than walking out the pitch knowing you will concede no matter what instruction were given. A poor defence is the hallmark of a team in relegation form, and we are in such form at the moment.

Calvert-Lewin and Walcott score and this thread would be totally different right now. It's gutting and hard to take but until they scored I was impressed. We went at them, forced them into mistakes and kept going forward which was a far cry from Koeman and Sam's approach to big games of damage limitation just hoping to keep the score down.

There is no if. Only if we signed a big money striker. Only if we can best Huddlesfield and West Ham at home.

But they didn't score did they,so that's why this thread is like it is.

My concern is when confidence starts to drain out of the team.... Like you say, hopefully Bernard comes in fully fit and gives us a creative spark we don't have, and Richarlison can score as a centre forward... Maybe Mina can pop up with some goals from set pieces....
It's all about goals, and when a team doesn't have a quality striker, they lose games they should be getting something from, like today...we need a win ASAP just to pick everyone up...
Thing is, Richarlison only scored 5 goals in 38 games at Watford last year...

Totally agree, even the red pundits on sky have just said Everton were the best team up until Arsenal scored, which was against the run of play.

When was the last time we could say that about a team going to Arsenal

I know. Not replacing Lukaku, a 15-20 goal a season striker with another has killed us. A new striker is a must in January. As long as DCL and Niasse are being relied on we won't be going anywhere anytime soon.

But 20 goal per-season strikers aren't easy to find... hence why the ones that are around, cost £90m

We've had probably the best schedule start to the season in years and we have 6 points.

I'm not saying he needs binning, I'm saying that he needs to figure this out quickly.

I think as you do with the teams we started the season agin we should have been up there with 10 to 12 points.

Ever heard of a team called Sunderland ? Passionate fan base, excellent stadium, owner who spent millions and thought he knew football, various managers, mixed bag of players, where are they now ? We look just like the next club to fill their vacated Premier League shoes. Silva like the owner is clueless.
