New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

The source is "LoveSport" radio, and I listened in because I read they had an "exclusive" at 4pm.

So...someone's told them the sprinkler system won't be fixed until March. Fine, Maybe it's true, maybe it isn't. I'd be more inclined to believe them if after breaking this news they didn't spend the next few minutes trying to get people to call in angry ("Spurs fans must be really angry hearing this, if you are really angry call us on...").

I turned off when they started blaming us for Crossrail's year long delay (something I was literally joking about only a few days ago)...

I'm surprised the press didn't blame us when it was announced last week Crossrail has been delayed by a year.

Call me pretentious, but I'm going to wait for a better source than a station that sounded like TalkSports less intelligent twin brother.

And the good news for Spurs fans is that it will be 5 years matured by the time it opens. :D

Hats Off To You Sir!

Related to a site nearby the club also owns (which I think has been used to store materials during the stadium build). The club wants to develop it into housing once it's cleared. Probably similar to the Cannon Road scheme we were involved with a few years ago, but I'm not exactly up on the details, sorry. There's a few parcels of land the club owns. It's nothing really to do with the stadium, and if it wasn't for the stadium delays probably wouldn't be in the national press. As I said, not exactly sure of the details on this one.

It all seems a bit odd. Like you say, the club own bits and bobs around the area, but permission for the ground was granted if the club developed them for houses and offices. But the council are getting arsey about granting permission for a site near the WHL station. Will all come out in the wash I guess.

Think it's all wrapped up in Momentum backed candidates gaining control of the council. Some schemes that looked solid are now being rejected. Honestly, I don't know the details and I doubt many in this thread would care all that much even if I did. lol

"The planning application will be submitted at the earliest opportunity and will be complete and thorough. It will be a full planning application and, therefore, we need to make sure that everything in it is absolutely correct. This, too, is a complex process. We’re reliant on third-parties and a lot of the work simply can’t be rushed."

"a lot of the work simply can’t be rushed."

Well said Chongy.

By moving to a new stadium, we believe we have a real opportunity to leave a legacy which can help regenerate this area for generations to come. Our ‘Goodison Campus’ already includes the Everton Free School and Sixth Form College, The People’s Hub, The Blue Base and our plans for The People’s Place – a permanent mental health facility on Spellow Lane. Through the redevelopment of the current Goodison site we have the opportunity to expand on the work Everton in the Community already delivers in Liverpool 4.

Everton that.

Also capacity still not confirmed for the people who lose their rag over made up numbers on a forum

"With regards to capacity, we are carrying out feasibility studies and have surveyed our fans. We are working with industry experts to assess what the optimum capacity should be and, so far, a final number has not been determined. It is important we get this right and there are a multitude of factors we need to take into consideration, such as planning, size, mass, the look and feel of a stadium set in Bramley-Moore Dock. It is a lot more complex than just picking a number that feels right".
