New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

My hero Peter Farrell played in that game. He told me the ground was full at lunchtime.

Peter Farrell was a brilliant Everton captain. I bunked off school one Wednesday afternoon to watch England v Ireland at Goodison (1948/49 season). I was stood behind the goal when Peter Farrell scored Ireland's second goal to win 2 - 0. England's first defeat ever on home soil. I can still see it as though it was yesterday. Peter Farrell got the ball on the edge of the England penalty area, Bert Williams the England goalie raced out to narrow the angle and Peter Farrell calmly lobbed the ball over him into the net. Biggest roar of the day from the crowd!

Been over 6 months since the AGM and still not so much as a whisper about any potential funding outside of the council deal which hasn't actually been put to paper yet.

Doesn't look like progress to me.

At the end of the day all I can see that we have to this project is an agreement to lease the land from Peel and a few drawings from Meis.

What you've seen over the last few days is a bit of activity surrounding shares and BK using TalkSport to make vague noises about the stadium "progressing".

That's just to fill a vacuum that might / will develop concerning lack of substantial movement on funding / planning application.

It's textbook Everton.

There's nothing happening. And I wouldn't be surprised if Everton and other players who might be prepared to commit to the docklands project are waiting on broader economic / financial indicators to make themselves known before deciding to go ahead with this scheme.

Not being funny but why exactly would you be expecting to hear details of finance deals between a private company and potential lenders? Are there any other deals to reference that have seen finance discussions leaked or discussed publicly?

Even 2022 will be tight now.

Best case scenario if planning goes in soon is the build starting in start the middle of 2019. If 2022 is the aim that's only three years including all the prep work (draining the dock etc) and surrounding transport/infrastructure work. Also doesn't give you a lot of leeway if something goes wrong like (just plucking an example from the air here), wiring within the fire detection systems.
There is no way we'll be moving into that ground before 2025 if it even happens at all, we won't even have submitted planning permission by 2021.

You don’t know this at all.

As revealed by Telegraph Sport in November, former American sports agent Moorad has held discussions with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy over his interest in putting money into the club and appointed a UK-based adviser to help him.

It is understood that since the initial discussions, Moorad has sought extra backing from China and elsewhere, and sources in America even claim a term sheet has been signed over a proposal, although that remains unconfirmed

When the Cain Hoy interest emerged, Spurs said it had spoken to a number of investment groups about stadium financing and that Cain Hoy was one of them.
