New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Probably because we won't fill it.
There's nothing even close to suggest we have 20,000 fans waiting in the wings to get into goodison.
Are we building a stadium for the next twelve months or the next 70-100 years ?

We know that we can fill a 40k stadium because we do it every week. If the capacity of Goodison miraculously jumped to 45k overnight could we fill that but we simply cannot know that.
I don't understand the argument that we have 40k followers simply because that is all that fits into Goodison at present.
We don't know what the new ground is going to look like yet but even if it is even half decent in the iconic location on the docks then the new ground is going to become one of the big attractions for all tourists coming to Liverpool.
I was in Liverpool recently for the Liverpool Feis and the day after my wife dragged me onto a bus tour of the city.
I refused to get on one going to Anfield and couldn't find one going to Goodison... but every one of them will go to the new ground.

In short.. the sky is the limit.

2022/23 season?

For some reason I thought it was 2021/22 season.
A bit disappointing that. But, it has to happen.

Even 2022 will be tight now.

Best case scenario if planning goes in soon is the build starting in start the middle of 2019. If 2022 is the aim that's only three years including all the prep work (draining the dock etc) and surrounding transport/infrastructure work. Also doesn't give you a lot of leeway if something goes wrong like (just plucking an example from the air here), wiring within the fire detection systems.

To be honest most of us would be happy to have the project confirmed, the money in place and planning on it's way.
We have waited so long, have had so many false dawns, have been disappointed so often that waiting a little longer is the least of our worries.

My Dad was at that game as well as a 15 year old, he was also at the Coventry game in 1983 when it was 12,500! He’s not with us anymore but I bet there’s not many who could say they were at both those games - highest and lowest league crowds!

bcblue1878, your Dad was probably in the boys' pen with me and my brother. I was 12 years old. Sorry to hear he is not with us now. Can't say I was at the Coventry game (fortunately!) moved away from Liverpool in 1951.

He was at the Liverpool game with his Grandad, weirdly my Grandad (Dad’s Dad was a Liverpool supporter!)! Thank God my Dad started going to the match with his Grandad and not his Dad!
One of my Dad’s last games was the Arsenal game when Rooney scored!
My Grandad’s last Liverpool game was the Heysel game, he got to the ground but never went in when he heard what was going on and never went to a match again!
Hope that little lot makes sense!
Anyway back to Bramley Moore dock.....

went past bramley moore the other day on my way to costco, it's derelict, the road is knackered, the whole area needs doing up, can't see 3 years work making much of a difference. Stay at Goodison.

This is the concern I have too (if I can call it that). Further delay, spiralling costs etc. You know all about that.
Nobody said it would be plain sailing, but as each year passes the more I seem to get niggled about it.

Wish we could get a quote of substance from anyone regarding where this is at. Every time we have heard anyone mention it they've said nothing of value other than work is ongoing.

It been over six months since Meis consultations and the communication has been non-existent since.
The Daily Fail has the extended waffle.
