City, Liverpool and Chelsea will utterly bum us if we defend like we did yesterday. Thankfully we have a much gentler run in than last season and there's time to iron out the enormous kinks

God, not again, I heard all this crap about the RS three times last season, every game vs us they barely threatened but our fans still moan they would. Chelsea got carved open about six or seven times by an arsenal team which aren't that great atm. Let teams worry about how we're carving them open than us worrying. There's no good defences in the prem anymore tbh, we'd outscore nearly every team in the league if they try going toe to toe with us.

Silva is playing with basically the same players that Allerdyce had, with one notable exception. Baines is playing well, Siggy has started, Keane looks like he might be shaping up. Silva has installed something into a set of playes who struggled to get a shot on target last year, I look forward to the time when he uses the players he has brought in.
Things aren't perfect, Brands and Silva aren't miracle workers, we can't become league winners over night. I am more than content with what they have achieved so far, if they can shift a couple more on before loan window closes then they will have exceeded my expectation.

The fact that Silva desperately wanted to sign Mina this summer is making even more sense now. He has clearly put a massive focus on set pieces and has now added Mina and Zouma. Great to see a manager with a plan unlike the frauds we have had for years now. That set play was brilliant and we created like 5 or 6 good scoring chances off of set pieces in the match.

Yeah but Big Sam won his first 3 games, Koeman got 5 wins and a draw in his first 6 games.

Just saying.

I love the way the Echo are crowing about 'modern football' being brought back to Everton when they were licking Koeman's balls for bringing in the 'pragmatism' that led to the last two season's of anti-football.

Some brass necks on them that lot.
They have to do a lot of typing and have to invent content to put out every single day. If they could master consistency too, they'd go into something better than scribing for some birdcage liner about footy. Amazing they get away with it.

thought this guy would get found out immedietly but he has made a reasonable start. it was obvious from the Wolves game that he had instilled a better attitude in the players. its still very early and could all still fall apart.

2 things - Richarlison has scored 3 of our 4 goals, and we haven't kept a clean sheet yet.

Why are you literally waiting for it to go wrong? Just so you can be right? Honestly what kind of fan are you, seriously embarrassing

Has to get rid of the zonal marking for me. Just doesn't work in this league. It's been proven time and time again. Apart from that, still lacking a controlling dm. Hopefully Andre Gomes will fill that gap. Then we r in business.

Go back to failing on crypto Kev. Football ain't your game.

Saying that, neither is crypto.

Go away Kev.

I'm actually excited about the rest of the season. There's hope

Me to, the fact that outside of City no teams seems to have hit the ground running has added to this, with our fixture list looking nice before we go to Arsenal good chance to get some early points on the board and leave it to others to catch us

....perhaps more evidence of a football strategy, with him talking about the vital no6 (Schneiderlin) role as the one that dictates the pace of play. Indication that he doesn’t currently have anybody else who can truly do that if Schneiderlin is injured for next week. Shame Gomes isn’t available.
