So does the Koeman era.

It is amazing to think ten of those players today were available to Sam last season and eight available to Koeman yet there was such a vibrancy about the play today compared to any game last season.
Koeman didn’t care at all. I think we all should have guessed that when he was sitting posing for photos at a pool bar in Portugal on transfer deadline day last year.

Silva is there, on the training pitch, everyday. You can see that he has a determination to succeed. Not saying that it will necessarily happen, but it is refreshing to see.

Koeman thought he’s come here, finish 7th a couple of times and then get the Barca job.

Despicable fraud should never manage a football club again. Hope he flops with the Netherlands, too.

Laughing at all the Allardyce scapegoating. He actually shored up the team - yes, in his own horrendous style, but nevertheless shored it up. Koeman was a disgrace, both in terms of coaching and his attitude. Not to mention the fact he took £200M of the club's money and threw it into a furnace.

If both were in court for their contribution to trying to kill a football club Allardyce would get 18 months and Koeman would get life.

I think a lot of the hate for Allardyce comes from his arrogance. He even said himself that he knew he’d be going in March, but he continued to goad the fanbase.

Sam let himself down. He had a chance to play with his tactics when we were safe and we probably should have finished 7th, but he kept to the same old tired tactics he’d always deployed.

Let’s not forget Steve Walsh’s role in the debacle. Another charlatan who overseen the chaos.

I don’t want to jump the gun, but there seems to be a clear plan for us now.

I'm not for a minute defending Allardyce. I just know that in the hierarchy of blame he's well down the pecking order. Allardyce did exactly what we expected from him. Koeman did the exact opposite. I detect a mood to to draw a veil over Koeman's time here and pretend that he wasn't all to blame for it. He was though.

...agree. Allardyce did the job he was brought in to do. It wasn’t pretty but we were in real trouble looking at the performance at Southampton last season. Allardyce also brought in a couple of reasonable acquisitions in Walcott and Tosun.

The vilification should be aimed at Koeman and Walsh.

Bar Pickford, Walcott and Tosun that allardyce brought in last January, were better then anyone Koeman brought to the club.

The fact we lost Stones, Lukaku and Barkley without much hesitation was quite telling too. None of those believed the club could get to where we all want to be.

I am hopeful that we have the right management team in place now and have added astutely, rather than the dreadful scattergun approach of last summer.

Good start in the opening 2 games, and a much more enjoyable side to watch than last season on the evidence so far.

But he has to address the defending at set pieces. How can our defence just leave Ings free in the 6 yard box to tap it in.... The better teams will punish us if we allow gifts like that.

Yeah, that should worry all of us. Our defence on setplays is virtually non existent and we could be punished by 3 or 4 goals by a more clinical team.

I wasn't keen on the Silva appointment and, for me, the jury is very much still out. There has been a lot of positives though.

With more or less the same first 11 (with the not insignificant addition of Richarlison), we are making an enormous amount of scoring opportunities which is nothing short of a miracle when you think of last season.

The players look very happy too, and a few more wins could lift the doughy shadow of Koeman from the club for good. Keep defending like that and it will be Martinez' second season all over again.

Absolutely this. That was an awful goal to concede given the manner in which it was conceded. I can just foresee us conceding loads this season from set pieces and it'll be the same old story.

'Zonal' marking is a joke and it'd be a travesty if we didn't get the likes of Mina & Zouma man-to-man on set pieces considering their size & physicality.

This is a priority. Fair enough if he wants to go zonal (im not a fan) but someone needs to be in the zone where Ings was yesterday. Whether that wasnt part of the plan or it was and someone didnt do their job, they need to sort it.

The other thing is that Coleman and Baines are so far forward, they were getting acres of space on the wings. Better teams (like Spurs last year) will punish us.
