Just sayin'

How on earth this git was our Director of Football?

I would love to see the break down of his company credit card spends on this trip

He’s talking about business that’s already done and not saying anything derogatory towards other clubs.

“Pity he done well in the window” is a bit of a strange one, you’re actively disappointed that Everton did good business in the transfer window?

Not at all ive been impressed especially with the outgoings, more a pity because he has displayed competency at his job, i dont like the media stuff nor do i like the tone of his interview.

Fans complain when there is a lack of communication and don't know whats going on and when we are put in the picture others think we should be more secretive.Everton can't win.
FWIW I thought it was an informative piece that is helpful to Evertonians is signposting where Brands wants to take the club.

Perhaps im a bit old school, or behind the curve on DOF. I do think if we had a poor window it would be radio silence, it makes me question his motivation, does he want to raise his profile after a good window, maybe its a win for everyone. I just wouldn't be a fan of that approach.

This window (and probably the next) was always going to be more about thinning the squad and plugging gaps with ready made players.
Joao Virginia (mountain mama) the exception here.

Reckon we'll see more Brands style signings in the next few windows. Younger players with potential looking to fight their way into the first team.

The FIFA/FM heads will have a field day :D

For the players, hearing him say things like “we were willing to spend more because he was our No 1 target” or “we were willing to gamble and wait till the very end of the window to get him because he was the player we wanted” must really boost their confidence and belief that this is the right place to be. It may not happen overnight but I am confident if we let Brands do his job he’ll bring success.

Everton need to start acting billy big time (including us fans) for years under kenwright it was plucky little Everton now we’re signing players from under the noses of Man Utd and leaving Barcelona take it or leave it offers...and a dof with a clear plan ,I’ve longed for this Everton for so long, how can you moan about this

If you have to tell the world you are billy big time, you probably arent billy big time in my experience.

Like i say i have no complaints about the work he has done, the signings will be judged as the season goes on, but ive been impressed with the outgoing which is far trickier. I dont like this interview though.

Its not all or nothing, i can think he could be doing a good job as a DOF and not like his approach here with the media or how he handled this interview.

We're not really useful to Big signings. Previously there have been 1 main player and maybe a couple for the future. The team has had or will have had major surgery, when the new players are in the team. I guess we'll judge it around Christmas?

From what I saw against Wolves, looks like the new signings have given the existing squad a kick up the bum though.

I do feel quite sorry for Walsh to be fair, can’t really pinpoint why, just think he was hung out for a kicking by being offered the job.

My thoughts are the same. Couldn't say no to the pay package probably offered.

A scout who went way over his head in undertaking a DOF role

Which particular part of his interview did you translate as him telling the world he was Billy Big Time.
