In modern day football it is. Influence is measured by followers on social media, of which they have comparatively few.I do not think Twitter is a good barometer of a club’s support. Also, less people are interested when it is a one-horse race
I think you underestimate how big they are, particularly Celtic. They get 60,000, typically sign good players who have good Premier careers (look at van Dyke at Liverpool and Wanyama at Spurs) and they have a great heritage. Comparing them to those clubs is disingenuous as they are much bigger. Only Leeds is comparable and they would still be at the top of the Premier League had it not been for dreadful mismanagement. In modern day football it is. They'd probably reach a championship level in the English game and then reach a level comparable to Leeds, Sheffield Wednesday and Forest.
At best, they'd be comparable with Cardiff or Swansea and be in and around the play offs, spending a few seasons in the PL before going down again.
They look very easy to play against with how they played today and they made the same mistakes over and over again because he isn’t willing to change his methods.West Ham were truly tripe - it wasn’t even competitive! They thought they were getting an upgrade on Moyes, but I think he knows the league better. Sure, Pellers won the league, but his performances got gradually worse at Man City and he had inherited Mancini’s team. Also he is coming over after failing in China, which puts the water in backwater!
They also threw some money around, but it was all vanity signings and they failed to invest in a solid defense
Haha - they’ve been through Moyes and Sam... Mark Hughes or Pulis next? They look very easy to play against with how they played today and they made the same mistakes over and over again because he isn’t willing to change his methods.
Wouldn’t surprise me if he was the first casualty of the season playing like that
I couldn’t agree more with this. He is a man looking to prove himself and the signings are massive upgrades and a lot of them mention the reason being him that they have signed. Mina has even said he would run through a brick wall for him so that alone will attract better players through the door. His man management to this point is bob on things are looking good for usExactly..I noticed Silvas reaction to the first goal...no great celebration but a determined 'get in' response..he wants to win..hes ambitious..he will improve and entertain us...our spending is not finished and there will be more signings during the next 12 months
That’s because they think they are bigger and better then what they are. Be funny to watch them get relegated this season can’t stand themHaha - they’ve been through Moyes and Sam... Mark Hughes or Pulis next?
What is strange is Moyes is a good age, very experienced and has built teams up in the past. But they mugged him off to being in a 64-year-old who pays not much attention to attack.
Wouldn’t be surprised - they invested in all the wrong areas. Or at least, they prioritized their already above average attack while neglecting their geriatric defense. That’s because they think they are bigger and better then what they are. Moyes touches every team with themWouldn’t be surprised - they invested in all the wrong areas. Or at least, they prioritized their already above average attack while neglecting their geriatric defense.
Hang on....

Every point made there gives you a chill down your spine when you think we could of had sam the gravy train at the helm this seasonAll the problems we had with Koeman they have, perhaps in a greater degree than we did.
They have a poor squad as of last season, they ended up on about 42 points. They have gone and overpaid for a lot of average players with big ego's (see Wilshere) and have done so in a lopsided manner. That central midfield for example is so easy to get at. Noble is past it, Rice is a decent player but a centre back and Wilshire will not be effective in a side that needs him to defend more.
Aside from the players though they have a manager who is not prepared for what he has got himself into. He didn't impress with our interview 2 years ago. HE will want to manage top players and top teams, and at his age won't have the energy or ability to get this lot turned around if they make a tough start.
Their initial fixtures are very hard. They could easily be in the relegation zone after 5/6 games. From our experience last season, nobody in the media or the fanbase cuts much slack for that as it doesn't make a good story. It then becomes a very different game playing under such pressure.
I suspect he will be the first to go. Those idiots thought they were going to crash the top 4. They go a brutal reality check today against the side who finished 4th last season.

Good job we have Silva then
