What we have on our hands is a 10M pound player 6 months ago who has failed at his club that are now wanting 40M for yet everyone on here seems to think it’s a good buy.

Why is that?
I don't think everyone thinks it's a good buy necessarily, more that it seems pretty clear that he's the player the management want and there's less than a week for us to wrap a deal up. With our record of waiting on players only for deals to fall through, I think people would just quite lie us to get it boxed off so we don't go into the season with the same abysmal options as we had last year.

Would be funny if everyone turned there attention elsewhere due to him thinking he could keep clubs waiting and then he ended up spending another 6 months watching Barcelona getting no football. Barcelona would be gutted to after initially wanting 17 million then keep putting up the price

Doesn't sound to me like he's keeping any clubs waiting based on what his agent has said. Sounds like Barca are pricing him out of a move currently

Barca just playing the game, they know that we are desperate, so of course the price will just keep going up.

Still think he will be dragged here kicking and screaming.

No doubt he will tell us how he supported Everton as a yoot while slinging packs for the cartels.

doesnt want to be here and massively overpriced. surely brands and silva have moved on to better prospects?

This will probably only be concluded on deadline day.

The PL is where the money is, so Barca won't leave themselves with only a deal with Lyon in the offing.

Seems clear enough our interest, which should be appealing to the player, but that means nothing if Utd come in with an offer.

If they don't want him, then the way would seem clear for us I'd say, but we are going to have to wait to find out. He won't go whilst there is still the prospect of any interest from Utd, however weak it appears to be.

doesn't sound great....

Barcelona] coach Ernesto Valverde decided he could not count on Mina and more often than not he didn’t even make the substitutes bench, with Thomas Vermaelen the preferred reserve to Pique and Samuel Umtiti.
And when Mina did play, Barcelona tended to suffer. Their defence was tight on their title charge, conceding just 29 goals in 38 league games.

Almost a quarter of those goals were spread out over just three games in which Mina was on the pitch - and he only made five league appearances in total.

The worst of those matches was the debacle at Levante, in Barcelona’s penultimate match of a thus-far unbeaten league season.

Paired with Vermaelen in defence, ‘Tom and Yerry’ came up with comically bad defending as Barcelona suffered a 5-4 defeat, ruining their chances of surviving the season without a single defeat.

Mina started his Barcelona career reasonably well, impressing personally during a disappointing 0-0 draw with Getafe, but the Madrid minnows were not able to cause much trouble.

As soon as he came up against craftier opponents, his flaws were exposed.”
