True but I don't even mean on an ambition level of course players don't see us as an elite club anymore. Of course he has every right to wait for a better offer. However you need to find players with that hunger maybe he's got it but I don't get good vibes about him. Sometimes you could go for a slightly worse player who wants to fight and grow with the club. You could say that about many of the players Moyes signed. I get the feeling we are picking up elite squad players half the time do they have that hunger? It's a question I'd ask Morgan if he was in front of me now because he looks like he's happy to swan around and pick up a fat wedge.
It's the job of Brands and Silva to continually convince players people think are just above our level to sign as that's how you progress as a club. As goat says if we only signed players that were convinced right away to come here we wouldn't be progressing.

Did this with Lukaku and even though we didn't reinvest wisely it's the path we must take.

Can’t wait til United withdraw all interest in the player, only for a club like Valencia to swoop in and sign him swiftly. Got one of them written all over it.

Bottom line is we need 2 CBs....if we're waiting on him fine , but at least one more needs to be signed in ASAP
2 new / Holgate ....1 of Jags / Keane
Williams out

I could be wrong but I think they're maxed out on non-eu's with Murillo, Gabriel, and Neto and for the money quoted not a Sevilla signing. I'm guessing Brands is still haggling the fee down. Digne did say we were after him for 2 months and his fee is pretty darn good for his pedigree.

United currently have:
- Bailly
- Lindelof
- Jones
- Smalling
- Rojo
- Tuanzanebe

Even if they sell Smalling and Rojo, they still have 4 DC's and seem to be targeting Maguire.
Why would they need Mina? And would he really be an upgrade on Jones/Lindelof/Bailly?

I don't disagree that is partly the only way we can progress but I suppose they have to be of an age where they have something to prove and not a cast off. He does seem ambitious but I presume he would just use us as a stepping stone which is fine but he has to prove he's worth it first.

Great point this, it's one reason why Rojo can't be an option, we can't go for players who the top 4/6 have seen as not being good enough.
We have to go for players those clubs are overlooking and convince them to come

I wouldn't say that's always true. Example being someone like Giroud who Arsenal said no to but is still one of the better forwards in the league. Ramsey and Martial being others who might leave and are still fantastic and would improve us massively
