Kept quiet until now as I don't want to jinx it but this will be a quality transfer if/when it is announced. Excellent reader of the game, good positional sense and more importantly fits Silva's approach in that he is excellent on the ball, unlike a lot of our current players.

Fingers crossed... Slowly building a team here. I'd be happy with 1 CB and 1 CM after this, should be enough to see us through to the next window.

...Baines has been a little maestro of a footballer as far as i’m concerned. I like watching good footballers and his partnership with Pienaar was tremendous.

But time catches up, injuries happen with more regularity and it’s time to move on. Ironically, what I see of Digne he looks similar to Baines in that he is very comfortable on the ball and makes those little deft angled passes.

Change is needed but Baines should be applauded in my opinion.

oh aye definitely, been a top player for us but should have been provided with some competition years ago.
the sentimentality of some fans and certain board members winds me up though.

Name checks out.

Couldn't agree more. Think a centre back, like Mina, and a CM, like Drinkwater, would be enough to set us up for a solid season. We need some foundations laying, and a period of stability. Sensible signings are the way forward.

Possibly but a season lasts 38 games. Everyone worked themselves into a tizzy last season and we ended up with Sam Allardyce. Koeman probably would've finished 8th to 10th himself anyway. We need to give Silva time.
Not the way modern football works though is it.We want the World and we want it NOW.

Does anyone know if he's on the plane? Read that he traveled back to Spain on Sunday to Finnish up with Barca but then nothing else being said

If we stuck with Koeman we would've gone down 100%. We looked truly awful and the guy had no idea what he was doing on a game to game basis.

Playing for both Everton and England i often thought that he was the only player who could consistently control a ball at pace, giving him longer to assess the next move, while others were still juggling or chasing their first touch.
