Tierney to me just looks like a winger, full of pace but can he actually do his job and defend like this lad? I bet he can’t.
he looks very similar to that lad at Fulham. It'll be interesting to see how he copes in the prem next year when he's expected to do more defending than attacking..

Nah, Tierney is a proper out-and-out left-back in the Baines mould. Can play in a back three if needed as well, or as a wing-back.

Sessegnon started out as a full-back early on but he's pretty much a wide forward at the moment. Over time, he could probably develop into a wing-back, but him and Tierney aren't similar really.

Well in Everton, sending a delegation to Spain for a player who is in America
Depends who we are meeting about the transfer. If his agent is in Spain it doesn't matter where the player is.

You could just as easily write 'well in Everton sending a delegation America to chat to the player when Barca officials and his agent are in Spain'

baines was never anything more than an OK defender though let's be honest

he was just world class at bombing forward and sticking crosses in, but actual defending he was always suspect

Got the impression that it was talks with the suits at Barca rather than the player.

Regardless, folk on here cry foul over the time we take on deals. If we agree a deal, that means he’s flying back from America which could take a day or two for him to be released from the squad.

He’d then have to recover from possible jet lag before taking a medical so whilst youd want him in for the game against Rennes, it’s possible he might not be signed until Valencia which isn’t ideal.

Barcelona are in the driving seat timing wise.If they'd kept him off the flight that sends the message they are keen to sell.Sending him means we'll end up paying what they're after for him.
