For me the problem in dealing with Barca is the buy back option. If the player fails ..our problem , if the player is a huge success then they get to buy him back at a fraction of his value leaving us with a gap to fill in the team.
There are so many stories about these players it is hard to know what to believe, players who were at the world cup are only coming back to their clubs now and it all depends on what Barca want anyway.

I’m less concerned about the Lyon stories (they may not even be true) and more concerned about the comments from he and his uncle as well as the transfer being drawn out the way it has. This is a vital position that needs to be filled ASAP. I’d hope we have other dudes in line to join in case this backfires. Don’t wait too long and pull a Giroud again

If he doesn't want to come, time to move on, it's as simple as that.
Plus we're starting to get to the business end of the transfer window and this is a position that really really needs filling.
