Usmanov

Congratulations on your certificate of whataboutery.

Usmanov is a convicted rapist, and I don't want him anywhere near my club.

I've only scim read your link, but he's not a convicted rapist, that would imply he was found guilty and served time, he was accused of it but it was never proven ( according to the link )

couldn't care less if he was a "gangstar" or not though if he made us boss again

why r we judging him . let the courts and politicians decide all that. i think FA reviews the background of each owner ..and the recent Abramovich ban proves there are people looking after this aspect .. thats not our concern . who knows what all Moshiri has done , or usmanov or glazers .. unless they are banned by English government or FA, i dont care because i dont know all facts to judge these owners .

I care.

The people of Liverpool have fought tooth and nail against the sort of oligarchical tendencies shown demonstrated by the likes of Usmanov.

If one of the cities greatest assets gets taken over by one, it will truly be a dark dark day.

I don't think many would doubt your critique of Usmanov. I've yet to meet, or know anyone even a little wealthy without being quite corrupt, underhanded individuals. However supporting Everton is not solely or centrally about principle, beyond the principle of winning.

I want a football that is not based upon cash. Ironically being as well rooted as we are in the best football city in the country we would fare well. However until that day comes I accept some degree of compromise .

Usmanov's investment into the city and the waterfront will do an awful lot of good for the city as well. It will help repair the asset stripping of venture capitalists like FSG.

With the nicest will in the world to Paul, who has run some good stories he's a million miles away from Usmanov and he is reporting things at a surface level. Yes on the surface of things they are not linked. He is very unlikely to say he will look to join Everton. The first you will officially hear it from him (if he were to do it) would be the day it was announced.

Lets not forget here, Moshiri came from nowhere to take over very quickly. Usmanov doesn't need to keep Paul in the loop when he can get a hot line straight into the FT.

I have always felt that Moshiri will have another investor with him at Everton, the 50% plus shareholding held by Kenwright and is unlikely in my opinion to be all taken up by Moshiri. Moshiri seems to be somebody who likes working with partners and sharing risks and rewards.... it may well be that investor is not Usmanov although there are very strong arguments why it could be.

Recently with the apparent stalling of progress at BMD and an apparent tightening of the belt regarding buying and selling players I was questioning my belief that there would be a second investor.
The bid for Richarlison and Silva talking about signing as many as six players while we all recognise that huge money will not be made on player sales reinstates my belief that there is somebody in the background guaranteeing the expenditure but maybe not bankrolling it yet.... it is hard to see the club funding that level of expenditure or even Moshiri doing the same from his resources alone.

I think this is a good point. There has been a change in direction and speed of the last week, it may well be linked. My own opinion is it's probably not, as it will take time (months) to go through, even if the process began tomorrow.

If he comes my suspicion is Moshiri wants the club going in the right direction again with a clear plan. He will use this summer to implement that. If Usmanov then comes, the sort of money we threw about under Moshiri initially will seem small fry. I imagine you would see 200 million put towards the ground and probably another 150 million over the following two seasons.
