Not sure its fair to compare anyone to Ronaldo, the man is a freak of nature.

Ok maybe not fair...but valid then...

He could have and should have been viewed alongside players like Ronaldo and possibly won a Ballon d'Or during his career with the talent he had.

He was not, but he is now. Someone said Ronaldo was still tearing it up at 31, and another claimed Rooney would do the same. He totally would not. In his prime, sure, but not now.

Why are we including a clause that would see Rooney come back here in a coaching role? He isn’t out legend, let United pay for his retirement!

No transfer fee. Dc paying a “significant proportion” of his wages. An agreement to come back to Everton as a coach.

Sounds like we are getting rinsed here and still going to be paying him for a long time to come. (Unless it’s united who are still going to be paying part of his wages)

He also still needs a visa so we’ll see how that goes.

Could be announced on Monday apparently.

I reckon global soccer star Wayne Rooney will have no problem at all getting a working visa you know mate.

Excellent, best possible start for the reign of Marco and Marcel. It’s symbolic more than anything, we’re a different animal going forward. Also see nothing wrong with him coming back as a coach, I think he’d be good.
