Silva’s contract dispute with Watford means that he will not sign before May 27th when the break in his original contract was due to come into operation.

It’s all so very Everton isn’t it? New board, new director of football, known by the whole world who we want to appoint and........two weeks after the season is over he’s still not in place with only three weeks before the World Cup starts. Guess we’ll rush our signings in at last minute, not really gel at first, start poorly and then rally to finish mid table

If this is simply down to agreeing compensation with Watford then it will come to a point where we should just pay the money and get him in otherwise it’ll ruin our preseason. Hopefully Brand and Silva have been talking so Brand can act on him behalf.

Name these other clubs that have been so ferocious and quick in signing up their summer targets. I've got all day.

If you read up, we offered that lot 12 mill but they said no. All money offers from Everton now withdrawn. That lot have complained to PL and are after revenge, they want us to be given a 5 point penalty before a ball is kiciked.

The longer this goes on the more likely I think it is that we're confident of getting a much higher profile name in.

Surely, surely, getting a manager with no current club shouldn't take this long?

Clutching at straws mind you!

will last no more than 24 months and then back to square 1 again.

The game has changed now unfortunately. Due to social media, it's easier for fans and the media to hound out a manager (either rightfully or wrongfully). You won't see a manager get 10 years at a club anymore - I'd say 2 years is the average.

The whole thing sounds a real mess. Like trying to hook up with a women currently going through a very bad divorce with a jealous and somewhat unstable ex who doesn't want her back but seems hell bent on you not having her either.

And perfectly normal at even the biggest clubs in the world. Crabbs being Crabbs.

The trouble is there are not many straws left to clutch at, apart from a few hopeless currently unemployed unmentionable cases. If we are pulling out of the Silva farce which is becoming more likely because of the complications, then we might have a long wait before anyone decent turns up.
