Usmanov

We’re richer than Spurs now, we’re arguably able to pay the same as Chelsea and Liverpool, we will probably have a bigger transfer pot this summer than Arsenal. So far, it hasn’t translated into success.

We’re not rich. What the owner has is just that, the owners. We have whatever money the club can generate and at the moment that is less than spurs but more than those below us. Even John Moores didn’t spend his own money, merely allowed the club instant interest free loans as required........

They're all still richer than us. But the level of wealth usmanov would bring in could mean we could offer enough to turn people's heads, bit like city did at the beginning

We can double anyone’s wage now. The problem is that FFP won’t let us, or we can’t attract the players we want anyway regardless of what we pay them.
City just ignored FFP before they drove up their revenues to largely accommodate their spending.

They got circa a £50m fine from UEFA and a reduced CL squad of 21....they shrugged and carried on.

There’s plenty of ways around it as well, just look at City’s shirt and stadium naming rights deals for example.

It’d be a nice ‘problem’ to have is what I’m saying......

In typically exuberant Evertonian fashion,I think we might be getting a little ahead of ourselves. Yes, we got the rare double over Stoke, Huddersfield and Newcastle this past season, and yes, we played a brand of football that captivated....but Rome was not built in a day.
I advocate everyone reining in, just a little, their celebrations around this season’s achievements. One step at a time eh lads? If Usmanov is to coach the team next season, he’ll need a visa, so let’s cross that bridge first eh?
But yes, it is exciting to entertain thoughts of Usmanov on the sidelines next season...Goodison Park will be rocking even more than it has these past few, (very successful), seasons.

I don't remember too many people complaining when we were known as 'the mersey millionaires', backed by a man who's empire was partly built on the back of encouraging the nation to gamble. Welcome Alisher, bring yer roubles 'ere la.
