Everton Sack Sam Allardyce

Arteta may be your man. Act fast before Arsenal snap him up. 2 years under the wing of Guardiola and his football philosophy could mean he becomes a good manager. Young enough and hungry to prove himself. No brainer IMO.
Very good article.

Seems like the sports journos have finally been let off the leash and can now print the reality of football under Allardyce.

Meanwhile in Jim White land ............

Today is a happy day. In the words of that great 20th Century philosopher, Van "the man" Morrison "my momma told me there would be days like this".
But I have just had a thought, this is the most pleasure I have from following Everton in quite a while and it comes from sacking a manager and not from actually playing football.

Apparently 'everyone hates us' now because we were so mean to poor Sam. As if any of them would want to watch the dross we've had to put up with this season.

I'm so sick of us being expected to be Plucky Little Everton and not want to actually achieve something.

There will be a time when we need to address the strong negativity in the media. But it is certainly not now. These clowns do not matter one iota.
Only things that matter are that the person in charge at Everton has admitted that things needed a big change and he has done something about it. I have no idea whether these changes will work but if they do not it is his responsibility to change things again further down the line. It is called the search for excellence and anyone not prepared to embrace it and put shoulder to the wheel to achieve it is politely requested to get the hell out of my club.

I couldn't give a rattling sh1t what fans of other clubs think.I'd rather for us to be hated for being cold calculated and clinical winners, than being loved for being a bunch of loveable losers, who are happy enough with mediocrity!Anyway it was those two duds Ronald Koeman and Steve Walsh who ruined our season.I mean at one point in the season, we were resembling Villa in that season they went down. The likes of Southampton were wiping the floor with us.We were getting hammered by bum Italian outfits in europe. We were an absolute shambles.

That is what Allardyce inherited. But as soon as he arrived he got us organised, got us winning matches and we shot right up the table.Sadly after that initial first month, Allardyces limitations were exposed. It all went downhill rapidly after we went out of the FA Cup to that other lot.The football started to become increasingly dire, the manager started talking rubbish in interviews, and in the end we were all feeling pretty numb after the whole ordeal.

Still though Allardyce was bought in to do a job, and i am grateful to him for doing that job.Let's face it when we were hammered down below in Southampton, we would have snapped someones hand off there and then, if we were offered 8th place come the end of the season. But he just isn't the manager to help us win trophies, or the manager to help us rejoin the elite.

He just isn't a manager for attacking football, and attractive attacking football is the DNA of this football club.Allardyce was a short term appointment, but he did an alright job considering the mess that he inherited. Now the next managerial appointment is crucial, and it's looking like it will be Marco Silva. If get's us playing attractive football, and if we see an Everton side play with fight and passion every week, then we'll all be happy. If we get this wrong, then serious damage could be caused to this football club. The next managerial appointment will make or break us imo.

I guess now I understand why Sam got to go on that TV show while still technically Everton manager. All the changes above his head needed to be made first. That would have been quite a lot for the day after the season.
