My son text me at work this morning to tell me the news - abs made up to see our board at long last are being decisive and acting quickly.
Terrible appointment - thrilled to bits he's gone - can we wipe him off Everton's roll call?
Roll on August - COYB :celebrate:

He's a footnote in our history, akin to Marc Hottiger. A complete irrelevance that will be even moreso if we actually stop screwing up and start doing well.

Does David (Lord) Owen support Everton he's sat behind Moshiri?

Didn’t want him as our manager.

Don’t agree with the personal insults.

Class and dignity - Gravy tits

Yeah...but we were feeling pretty good at the start of last season too! Remember, golden rule...this is Everton.
Yeah but last year we were only feeling good because we were 7th the year prior and had money to back the manager.

This year we are feeling good because we finally got out a CEO we know is terrible, have installed a DOF finally, and also finished 8th last season and have money to back the manager. Last years reasons were a little more shallow, but I feel like as an Everton fan, you should allow yourself at least a few months of joy every year. Things go to crap eventually, there will be plenty of time to moan, so might as well enjoy the good times.

I caught a very brief bit of Dean Saunders talking this morning, he somehow manages to make Garth Crooks look like a credible football pundit. It's been a long time since I've heard someone as stupid as him, and that's even with making the allowance for him being Welsh.

He's a sh!t. What more do we want, we finished 8th.

Was getting sick of people defending Sam, refreshing that McNulty has spoken about why he had to go:

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/44138201

"Allardyce's sympathisers were swift to use Everton's eighth-place finish in the Premier League as justification for their belief he had been treated harshly by Moshiri.

There is no doubt the 63-year-old accomplished the job he was asked to do when he was effectively last man standing in Everton's flawed pursuit of a manager five weeks after Koeman's sacking.

The former England boss started effectively but then encountered a familiar problem - hostility from his own fanbase as a result of a style of play that was perceived as pragmatic at best and deadly dull at worst.

Everton's losses away to Watford and Burnley, following heavy defeats at Tottenham and Arsenal, brought the ill-feeling to the surface and Allardyce was simply never going to win the fans over as he became the subject of regular abuse from the stands, including banners demanding his removal.

Allardyce was also not helped by a PR blunder in which the club asked their own fan panel to rate his performance on a scale of one to 10 - the results of which were never going to be flattering.

Their season fizzled out as it became clear Allardyce would not survive, his fate probably sealed by Moshiri's presence at home games, particularly the 1-1 draw against Southampton when fan discontent was at its height.

This was a loveless association borne out of Everton's desperation and Allardyce's availability in November and has carried the feel of a temporary arrangement for the past three months.

Moshiri will have known he was risking a toxic summer, and season, had he kept faith with such an unpopular figure - a combination that only ever ends one way."

Arteta may be your man. Act fast before Arsenal snap him up. 2 years under the wing of Guardiola and his football philosophy could mean he becomes a good manager. Young enough and hungry to prove himself. No brainer IMO.

Very much a brainer.

We all thought Unsworth would become a very good manager and he flopped.
