No mate frightening is Allardyce, Pardew, Moyes, Hughes...
Silva/Fonseca is exciting, its an unknown really but at least you know whoever it is will play football the correct way and make going the game enjoyable.
I really can't make my mind up about Silva. As you say, enjoyable games will be a refreshing change, but I still have nagging doubts about him.
If the so called big names are out there, and we've approached them, and they've said 'Koff Everton you gang of meffs, as if I'd go there" I could handle that. At least we tried.
I'm worried he's the one and only choice. And let's be honest, Moshiri hasn't got a thing right yet.

The club has not learnt it,s lesson, that is, if it want it,s customers (sorry fans) to get on board then you make an appointment which will sweep the fan base.

Silva is not that thus you already create a fracture within the fanbase before you have even started.

Just out of interest, who would that be (?) why would that particular person "sweep" the fanbase (?) why would that person come here at the moment?

At least Marco Silva looks the part - like Martinez, his smart and classy appearance makes him (on the surface) a good match for Everton.

Sometimes you just pair managers to teams and it works:
Klopp looks and acts like a nutcase psychopath, which is perfect for the RS.
Kevin Keegan was an over-excited child who couldn't control his emotions as a manger - perfect for Newcastle United.
Mourhino, when he first arrived in England was in it for himself and his ego - perfect for Chelsea with their newfound riches.

To hell with his managerial capabilities. He looks ok on paper and he dresses smartly. Decision made.

Everton going for Silva when Emery available and interested. Amazed.

Sorry if posted. Just catching up.

Baffling
Agreed.
I am clutching to the straw that the media have jumped on the media bandwagon because we were after him when RK left. I am hoping that we are looking at different managers and Emery has been my preferred choice ever before we appointed Ronald Koeman.

some lads going be disappointed when Silvas Everton start winning games playing
exciting football, have find something else to moan about ! New Stadium delays maybe ?

Agreed.

Alan Nixon knows his stuff, despite the cretinous organisation he works for.

If he's saying we've ignored him, then we've ignored.

Less than 10% of the vote on our Hypothetical Manager Poll for Marco Silva.

Surely fans generally aren't wanting this guy?

If you can't get the job done at Watford - then why is he even in the picture?

Mosh best shoot for the Fonz on this one - or just go get Dyche ffs.
I doubt he's many people's first choice. Many, like me, will be just glad to see the back of Allardyce and a change in the football style as a starting point.

Maybe it's just because it's current, but there seems to be a lot more anti Silva feelings on here than there was anti Allardyce initially. The anti Allardyce feelings grew worse as his personality and football style became more apparent. I think initially most fans welcomed the appointment.

If results go the wrong way over the first 3 months he will be in for a hard time. If results go well, I think peoples attitude towards him will change, as He isn't a dislikeable character like Allardyce, and I doubt his football style will turn people against him; only poor results will do that.

So if he is appointed, let's hope he does well.
