Serious question as foreign supporter

As a Brit who lives in America, it pains me to see how little the club does to acknowledge our fan base outside of the UK, even outside the North West - there are so many American Evertonians. I've seen random blokes in Everton shirts all over America, never see people in Liverpool kits, or Spurs or Chelsea though. Man Utd is the only other shirt you see people wearing here. Begs the question why Everton rarely come over here for preseason and embrace their American fan base. One of my best mates over here, he's from Atlanta down in Georgia. Biggest Evertonian you'll ever meet, supported them before I met him which is how we hit it off. Gets up at 8/9 am every weekend to watch the games, has all the gear. Understands the game better than some lids back home. No one would forgive people like him for biffing Everton off and following Man City or any of the big clubs, at least he'd get to see them live given all these clubs come over every preseason, get to buy the gear in shops over here. Everton might as well not exist to anyone outside the UK. Sad
It baffles me too. It's so hard to get gear here and I would LOVE to see them in person in preseason. I live north of atlanta myself and I know there plenty around here. Would love to see the club do more. As much crap as The Esk gets this one thing he always says the club needs to do more with.

Thanks and many of the comments in here are reassuring. I also have a better understanding of why people get on them for the foreign support now. I have to get to Goodison before the stadium move. I have been to the original Tiger stadium that opened in 1912 and would love to get to Goodison to say I have also been to one of the oldest still used grounds on the planet. Glad to be a blue but my God can we get this whole mess with the manager and team resolved so we can start going in the proper direction.

Seriously though, did you read this or hear Rog and Davo laud this on their pod? This is what Everton is about, in addition to sometimes playing beautiful football (which has been missing of late).

Also, get your fat drive-through eating ass to Goodison!

the funny irony is we toured the USA a few seasons on the run in the mid 2000's seemed to haves topped now which is a shame

No no sorry I don't mean literally bashed. But that Everton fans make fun of them because many foreign people support Liverpool. I can't stand Liverpool fans myself including the ones here because they always think they achieved something before they have achieved it and that they are somehow entitled to trophies.
Said like a true Evertonian. Sounds like you're supporting the right club mate. Welcome to the fold.

I'm pretty sure overseas supporters make up a decent percentage of our membership. Maybe a mod can confirm. But this site does have a lot of banter and pisstaking going on. If thats not for you maybe consider looking at other Everton forums.

Crikey
I’m from Dublin
I come over 5/6 times a year and have done the last 15 yrs or so
Before that it was 3/4 times a year
I’ve gone to the Palace away game the last 3 yrs and I’ve never seen violence and that includes derbies .even at the pit
I’ve been on stags to Liverpool and been in the Vines and on Matthew street till 4am and never seen real trouble.
You should come to Dublin on a sat night to see real aggro
You need to get your arse down to Concert Square mate. I never go there after dark. Im too old anyway. They wouldn't let me in.

You'd think having Brian McBride, Joe Max Moore, Landon Donovan and Tim Howard having played for the club that Everton would do more to grow their fanbase in the USA, but that's only the result of having clowns running the club since the early 90's. Instead they arrange going to Chile just because a team called Everton is over there, and seemed to be doing more to raise their profile in China just because of Li Tie and Li Weifeng.

At least you didn't go for the obvious. It's always a pleasant surprise to find Americans who support a non-Big 6 English team, although you lot don't seem to like Spurs much, at least not compared to the gooners.

Everton in the Community is one of the best things about this club. As is David Unsworth, bless him. And our Irish cinnamon roll, Seamus Coleman.

I think we should do more promotional stuff in the US too. Maybe get Howard to turn up since he's responsible for a lot of our American supporters (especially black American fans, apparently), just as Besic got Bosnians on board, Cahill did the same with Aussies and now Tosun's done it with Turks.

I totally get it now. It's like for me being a Broncos fan and we had Tebow as QB. I never had a major problem with the guy but we got this massive influx of fans of him that then talked mad trash about John Elway because he wasn't immediately the starter. If you're going to be a Bronco fan you don't ever do that because you understand the history of our team and organization. So this all makes more sense to me and feel even better about supporting Everton. Thanks to all of you.

What happened to Tebow, didn't he turn out to be hopeless ?

Well I thought it would be awfully stupid to just jump on the bandwagon of a mega team. I cannot stand the Yankees, pro baseball here, so going with one of the super rich clubs would have gone against everything i believe in. When we get there (and I believe we will) I know it will be sooooo much sweeter!

He won a playoff game against the steelers but you could just see he didn't have a long term prospect for pro ball. He is now in the Mets minor baseball system and actually doing decently. Guy can hit a baseball a country mile.
