Some time ago, about 7.00 a.m. yesterday, I wrote that teams that win things don't need excuses. They just do it. As it happens, I believe that there's another few weeks to go before we can make any kind of reasonable assessment of the current mob. The jury is out.

1984 / 85. horrible bloody start, n'est pas LCAB?

However, there is this thing which bothers me: Camp A: whatever Moyes does, he's right and Camp B: whatever Moyes does, he's [Poor language removed].

The bloke is a human being who is very, very well paid to get it right most of the time. He isn't paid to be superhuman. In my view, he gets an awful lot of things right, but, because he's human, he also makes the occasional mistake.

Now, does that mean if the mistake(s) is/are noticed and commented on, that there are traitors in the city? Does it mean that there are two grades of Evertonian, real and shallow?

I'm not going to answer the question, because I think the question answers itself.

What I will say, from personal experience, is this. I know Evertonians who would have strangled Catterick with their bare hands. I know Evertonians who called Kendall (Mk 1) everything from a pig to a dog. And God knows neither of those managers were perfect (being human like), but they got on with stuff, took the flak, produced the goods some of the time.

As it happens, I just don't have the powers of imagination to dream which universe, this or any parallel one, in which either Osman or Tim are better midfield players than Rodwell (did ya see the U21's, Moysey?) But I also know that I don't have to take the flak for a pretty farty performance.

So what am I saying? You're not a heretic if you question some of the guy's decisions. You're not blidingly stupid if you support him: most things in life are grey not black and white. Give the team a chance for a few weeks and if they turn out to be wanky, let them know then and don't spare the criticism ... they can cry all the way to the bank.

I wish all a very good morning.

Have just thought of my mate Terry who I used to go the match with. God rest his soul. A much older man than me (yeah, Chico, I know but I pocketed the proceeds) ... he wouldn't have Catterick at ANY price. If Catterick won the league nine out of nine, he would still have been garbage, because he dropped Alex.

And on December 22nd, 1971 ... can LCAB complete that sentence? Because it STILL makes me physically sick to think of it!!!

It's a common practice in this forum, any form of criticism is consider "Moyes out".

Not for me it is. I'm a big fan of the Moyesiah myself, but clearly he isn't perfect. No one is, but I do beleve that he's still the best man for the job. But if someone starts shouting "Moyes out" on here and isn't tongue in cheek about that comment, I refuse to take them serious.

When two tribes go to war, one things sure, you cant draw.
I beleive these are the lyrics...
...funny cos I'd have taken a draw yesterday looking back now!

That was a good read that Dutch, and I agree with a lot of it.

What frustrated me most about yesterday's backlash on here after the game is how a majority of people who posted on the 'Moyes Out' thread failed to see how we had an off day on the first day of the season, against a side who played very well defensively and frustrated us throughout.

If we have defensive displays like Blackburn's yesterday throughout our season we'll do very well, they were excellent. They knew exactly who to close down, who to hurry, who to mark tightly, weren't afraid to attack anything that came into their box and their 'keeper was solid.

They were well worth their clean sheet, Sam must have been chuffed to bits.

It was an off day for us, their goal was unfortunate and a lot of our players just didn't turn up and rise to the challenge of what Blackburn had to offer.

Cue the 'Moyes Out' comments...

People are entitled to their opinion but this was just ridiculous and cringe-worthy.

Moyes isn't perfect no, maybe he did get things wrong yesterday but the reaction in that thread was just unbearable to read.

I despise the fickle nature in some people, they'll all be back on the bandwagon in a few weeks time when we've gotten some consistent results.

Need this stickied-highlighted and in flashing lights to anyone on a downer after yesterday. There's a school of thought that you should 'grow a pair' if you don't agree with controversial and critical posts but for me personally given the same position i certainly wouldn't wish to be proven right on something put forward that might negatively impact the club/team/the manager/individual players. True enough negative things will happen through the season but I wouldn't be wanting to take any joy nor credit for predicting them.

So Moyes out by December? I know of a pretty decent manager out there who is available.

Martin O'Neill anyone?

Just putting it out there. No pressure.
