He's not a creator. His strength is breaking up play and giving it simple and finding space to take a pass and keep the ball moving.

A good manager comes in and simplifies things for him and plays to those strengths. I'm still a believer in the lad. Never going to be the best player in the PL but in the right set up easily good enough to hold down a place.

Maybe if he deliberately tried to pass to an opposition player instead he might find a blue shirt once in a while.
I once adopted a similar strategy in golf. I was aiming my drives down the fairway but they went spraying off in any direction but. So I aimed at the trees and rough, and whaddya know?...the ball went like a bullet straight where I aimed...

...I don't play golf any longer

rotation for gueye only imo and maybe mccarthy until we can flog him. I don't like seeing him and gueye in the same team nor do i like davies too advanced, he's a good tidy player but just like DCL we're asking these kids to do too much instead of letting them just do their thing.

“Until we flog him?”

So you don’t think there is any room for improvement obviously, despite his age and limited experience?

I find that difficult to understand to be honest. Way too soon to be writing a player off this early in his career surely.

Not a good game, he has good energy, but he doesnt have the pace, touch, or decision making going forward right now. The biggest issues are the times he just sat on the ball, dribbled a bit, and then commited a Rooney-esque terrible giveaway. Makes it too easy on the opposition.

Another young player who's positive play has been coached out of him.

Oh nonsense.

He is having a tough season, it happens at his age, an an ideal world he would not be playing as much as he is at this point.

Send him on loan so he can sit on Liepzig's bench and become the new Zidane. It's his only hope.
