I can’t understand why people are expecting him to score loads when we’ve got possibly the worst midfield for creating and supporting a lone striker in the league.

I've seen enough to tell me he shouldn't be our first choice centre forward next season. Part of the squad, that's absolutely fine, but if he's leading the line every game then we're on a hiding to nothing again.

Disagree. You could put Cavani or any top, top striker in this team and they'd be left isolated and chasing shadows for most of the game.
Against strong sides Sam essentially sets up with two LBs, two RBs, two CBs, three DMs and leaves our striker on his own at the half-way line. Its utterly pathetic and I feel bad for Cenk because you could clearly see his frustration with the team being so scared until the last 10 minutes.

Would you say that he's anything other than a 10/15 goal a season striker based on the evidence we have right now? I'm still judging by Lukaku standards because that's where I want Everton to be. I don't think Tosun is ever reaching those heights.

Looking at the replay on that header, the ball is behind him when he goes to head it.

If that was the case we might as well pack it all in. We got Lukaku to Everton, we can still get players of his ilk. We just need to be more imaginative in our signings than Jamie Vardy.

He came from Europe. Champion's league, even. Regardless, my point stands; no striker in the world would have had a decent game today with how negative and defensive we were for 80 mins of it.

You cannot say you've seen enough of him when he's been left isolated so much by BFS's horrid 'tactics' and our useless midfield/backup defenders. As others have said, Cenk deserves no criticism for today.
