He led one of Europes elite, to a decent trophy as captain and struggled in a team with no confidence when he got here. He got a massive shock and I imagine its been tough to go from the main man to a struggler. He hasn't moaned and I presumed got his head down, worked hard and is trying to put it right. If we can't get behind a guy like that then what's the point? It may turn out to be a step too far for him, but from what I've seen, there really is a player in there and with more confidence we may see it. Not giving him a go won't help anyone I don't think.
What trophy was that? He couldn't even lead them to a Dutch Cup win the big baldy fraud.

Ajax used to be, not sure if they are any more. Also they lost the final.

??? He got here before the season started, the team had loads of confidence before and after the Stoke home game.

He's a struggler because he isn't very good.

Has he? He didn't play for the U23s until last week. He was even trying to leave in January.

Coleman and Bolasie, I can understand us cheering on. A lad who hides when he comes on the pitch? Nah.

What you've seen at Ajax. He's been abysmal almost every minute he's played for us and wasn't very good for the U23s if you watched that too

Not giving him a go won't help anyone I don't think.

He'll be brought on in games where we are comfortably ahead and in control for a little pat on the head and to remind summer buyers that he exists.

mad his reception like, I even got up and got in on it clapping my hands off and I don't even know why! he was truly woeful when he played ( do think there is a decent player in there though it's just finding his position )

maybe it's because absolute felons like morgan keep making the squad when he clearly doesn't give a toss and keeps underperforming whilst other players who clearly have a bit more heart do not get a look in ( enter davy )

It's a big jump to come from the Dutch league to the Premier League. One that will cause young players like Davison Sanchez to struggle.

Thankfully we signed a leader of men.

Those asking what they have missed...

Same as Niasse was the anti-Koeman

The difference with Niasse is that his hard work and effort, despite a lack of skill and technical ability actually contributes to the team in goals. 7 goals in 15 appearances this season.

Klaassen has now appeared in 14 games and except for a clearance against Man City and playing a straight forward pass to Calvert-Lewin against Ruzomberok I can't really remember anything of note that he's done. All I have seen from him so far is falling over, hiding, giving the ball away, losing 50/50's, barely having a shot, scoring 0 goals and being taken off way before the end in the majority of games as he's been contributing nothing to the team.

I'll be quite happy to be proved wrong here, but my prediction is that over the coming weeks if given a chance, the Goodison crowd and GOT will be back to slating him for ineffective performances.

I don't care if he plays or not. There is nothing about him which says he provides what we are missing. The jury is well out on him. I just have a sneaking wonder if, no matter what his deficiencies are, he has to be an improvement on Davies?

His chance might be coming. Sigurdsson's injury has left a space open for one of the other "number 10's."

Rooney will be the one at first obviously with Bolasie out wide but Klaassen will hopefully see his game time increase a lot now. He needs to take that chance if it comes.

Klaassen with Davies and Gana in the middle with Saturday's front three ahead of them has potential.

I'd like to see him next to Gueye with Rooney pushed up to the no 10.

Ultimately it might not work, but no great harm in trying it at this point.

Yes, I was thinking this is a possible silver lining.

A chance now for a run of starts in the team and see if he has finally acclimatised after nine months or so in England.
