2 years ago he was in the second league of turkey. last year he was in the team which finished turkish league second. this night he scored his first goal in CL with roma.

Especially considering when he took over everyone was screaming relegation. Now we are cruising to a European finish and everyone playing it down like 'big whoop'. 'Ah lad, that's our default position.

Did we not finish in the bottom half 2 times in the last 3 seasons?... 'default position lad'.

I know and in fairness there is an argument that our defense isn't good enough to commit men forward but that's not a reason to give up on a player. Its a reason to fix the defense.

in all his highlight vids I kept on noticing 4-6 players in the final 1/3 and just thought uh I don't think Cenk knows what he's walking into.

he's probably decent and I don't think its a stretch to think that Besitkas w/ Cenk would smoke us in a 2-legged tie but it looks like as long as Sam is here he's going to have to change his whole game and become a hoof ball merchant to just achieve moderate success here.
