Chelsea were supposedly after Niasse aswell let's not forget. I would guess that teams probably scout hundreds of players a year, sending someone to run the rule over a player and seriously considering signing them are not the same thing.

This is one of the things that makes us look really small time, getting the local rag to run articles about how a good team showed a vague interest in a player we went on to sign.

We will see the best of Tosun as well as some other players when we get a decent Manager in place and are no longer being managed by a defensive, defeatist, blame deflecting, stats/kpi obsessed, relegation obsessed egotistical balloon. Sooner the better for me. Cannot even force myself to listen to his endless drivel any more.

So you are basically saying you are not a fan of Mr Allardyce as Everton manager

To be honest, I gave him the benefit of the doubt after he was appointed and got behind him but that has all been completely drained since Christmas and he and his merry men just cannot be gone quick enough for me now. I dont think we can move forward as a club until that happens.

Makes me laugh people blaming him being on the bench as Allardyce’s fault or that he must be another dud.

Maybe, just maybe a player coming from the Turkish league does need time to adjust to the premier league.

Doesn’t mean he’s tosh because he’s ‘already’ on the bench. Doesn’t mean Allardyce is clueless dropping him to bench either.

By all accounts Dubai certainly seems to of helped many a new player feel more intergrated into the team, Tosun included.
Also gives him a much clearer picture of what is expected of him now in terms of both effort & tactics/ his role.

Hopefully this will bare some fruits over the rest of the season.

Patience people, patience

Mate we are the only club I know that spend 27 million on a new striker and then not play him!

In fact In recent memory I can't think of one team who has spent big on a player and dropped them immediately without giving them a chance.

If we spend 27 million we should play that player straight away, no question. If they aren't good enough you find out over experience, not get hammered 4/5 goals to the good and then claim the issue is your new striker!

If Chelsea were after him they would have got him not us.

Just watched this. Woeful passing, gave it away almost every time. Looked a bit better out wide right but no way should he be starting on this evidence. Niasse looks twice the player.

He didn't have a good game but we are a team that doesn't move. It's hard to pass to a stationary target.

One pass he played it into the channel where there was plenty of space where realistically you would expect the RB to be running. Nope not our fullbacks.

Niasse mis-controls and then runs for everything. He is a menace but he's also awful.

There's a few players like Klassen, Lookman, Vlasic and now Tosun who would probably be fine in a team that wasn't struggling and had a coach that could improve the overall team play.

Even Sigurdsson was awful the first few games he played and had it not been for his price tag would have also been dropped never to be seen again.

Now I'm done defending him I would also add if he or any of the others were outstanding they would still be doing better. Walcott hasn't had the same problem and while i always liked him I never realized just how much better he was to the rest of our players.
