I thought he'd signed a 5 year extension last year (as announced by Bk at The Dixies).https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/f...rallas-Sam-Allardyce-Ronald-Koeman-Olympiakos
Everton EXCLUSIVE: The real reason for Kevin Mirallas’ exit revealed - board are to blame
KEVIN MIRALLAS left Everton this month after being fed false promises by the club’s board last summer.
Mirallas completed a loan move to former club Olympiakos last week and will stay in Greece for the rest of the season.
The 30-year-old only started two Premier League games this term and it would appear his Everton career is now all but over.
Starsport can reveal that Mirallas was told he would play a far more prominent role in the Toffees’ campaign but remained out-of-favour under ex-boss Ronald Koeman.
And while the midfielder had no issues with new chief Sam Allardyce, he wanted to leave after growing frustrated with the club’s board.
A source said: “He was unhappy in Everton, even from the start of pre-season.
“He understood that he would not be the first choice, although when he signed a new contract, he was led to believe that he would be an integral part of the team.
“He had no problem with Sam Allardyce, because he is a new coach. He didn't have a problem with Big Sam at all, more with the previous boss and the board.”
Mirallas joined Everton from Olympiakos for £6m in August 2012 and has made 186 appearances for the club, scoring 38 goals.
But the Belgian ace never truly settled on Merseyside and always had aspirations of returning to Greece.
The source added: “When he left from Olympiakos, he said that one day he would return.
“He spent many extremely good years in Greece, people loved him and respected him, he always wanted to come back.
“Maybe he wouldn't expect that the moment would come so soon.
“Olympiakos doesn't have such quality players like Mirallas. He will be the star of the team.”
Mirallas is under contract at Everton until June 2020 and Olympiakos do not have the option to buy him as part of their loan agreement.
But with Allardyce eyeing reinforcements both this month and next summer, it is unlikely that the Toffees would stand in Mirallas’ way if he wants to leave for good in the near future
Koeman's legacy lives on.

Some boss goals on there, good finisher
Good riddance to a bad egg, enjoyed some of his performances over the years but ultimately he had to go. Morgan has got to be next.
Never trust a man (or woman) who’s eyes are so close together like Kev’s.

You can dislike the way he has handled ....well, quite a bit of his career at Everton, but he's not a 'waste of a shirt'. Has ALWAYS been one of the absolute few to not bottle it in a derby and has provided some memorable moments. Wish him well with a moderate 'but you could have done so much better with us, you tit'.Nothing to do with Koeman. He’s a waste of a shirt, always has been. Greece is his level

Koeman gave Miralles a 3 year contract extension - add it to his list of cock-ups.
If there was one player he should have unloaded it was Miralles. Lukaku scored goals despite
Miralles.
