Usmanov

Oh look. He's back.

1) We don't know. But nor does he know that he doesn't want to sell

2) Any individual or fund who likes low risk healthy investments which make them money.

3) Many reasons. Firstly the council makes annual profit on the deal. It obviously can't be with Usmanov because he isn't even associated with the club. Yet.

However..... if Usmanov was in the pipeline then surely that increases the reasons why the long term funding deal in place. The burden is low for the club and the council and the councils profits are all but guaranteed.

But what would I know. I'm just a mere mortal who posts on a forum and hasn't even got my own website.

I like The Esk and he always puts compelling reasons for it not to happen. His 3rd point only strengthens the Usnamov link though. If you read how they wanted to fund Arsenals ground move, it is very consistent with what we are doing with BMD. Long term manageable debt, that is done working alongside third parties and doesn't proclude investment in the first team. This was the opposite of what Kroenke went for, with sharp repayments over a shorter period.

The council deal is very good for the club. It is fantastic levels of interest and very secure as well as bringing in a key partner. In truth if there a choice between paying 300 million for a ground, or having the council funding 300 million and investing 300 million in the squad/infastructure the second would make sense.

I don't get the Esk these days. He made predictions in the past which are now massively shrouding his previously sound judgement.

He and Moshiri wanted to spunk millions on players at Arsenal and win the CL, spoke of nothing but having a successful team, they are football fans, looking to run their own clubs and win things.

Usmanov will be here in due course, if he isn't already in the shadows, Moshiri is just getting everything ready for them both to run this club.
Im sure he will (be here in due time, that is). However i stand firm, that he see Everton as an investment oppertunity, aswell

The esk has said from day one this wouldn’t happen, seems like he’s got to stick to his story.

Because Usmanov could do here what the Arabs have done at City, making us and City the two best teams in the league.

I don't think people get the significance really. Unsmanov is wealthier than Sheikh Monsour (albeit the Sheikh has a state behind him, though it's his families state not his own). The likelihood of Moshiri, Sochi and Usmanov with an agreement to the biggest bank in the world would be significant.

In fairness to the Esk everything he's said re Usmanov not coming here is true. I just disagree with him on point 3, which in my view seems very similar to the MO of what he wanted to do at Arsenal. Even if you consider the murky creation of an SPV, it smacks of Usmanov.
