Are we in a relegation battle right now?

Are we relegationally challenged?

  • No, too early in season, over 38 games there will be at least 3 crapper teams

I think we are still very much in danger, but I’ll say this. Have we really been set back THAT much? Consider us with a healthy Baines, Coleman, Mori, McCarthy. We have assets we can sell. We have a couple huge holes, but a smart manager can fill them pretty easily IMO.

That's what is SO infuriating. The squad is full of what appear to be talented players but three managers have failed to get them to look like even vaguely competent on a semi-regular basis.

Leicester is the type of game where an Allardyce team could be motivated and get around them. But you have to say our defence could be given a torrid time by their attacking players. Pretty much the same for Palace.

Arsenal definite loss and Watford and Burnley away will be a massive struggle. Next game I'd be confident of us winning is Brighton at home.

Thank God there's plenty of teams between us and the drop zone hey...

We can’t attack, we can’t defend, we are actually deteriorating as the season progresses. We have had a succession of different managers accompanied by a plethora of different styles and recruitment requirements as a result we look like a disorganised and disheartened mob on the pitch.
On top of that we have made a managerial appointment who has signally failed to unite the support behind him which means we are dispirited, and it shows.
We have all the requirements to suffer relegation.
Luckily we still have Pickford, and I cling to that slender strand as my only hope.
Grim.

I think it looks more perilous than it actually is, based entirely on the number of clubs below us rather than the points.

For us to be relegated, at least 9 teams need to overtake us. I can’t see stoke, Brighton and Newcastle all winning 6 more points than us before the end of the season, let alone Southampton.

Obviously this assumes we actually win a few more games this season...

We can't guarantee our status, so we're in a fight, but the points gap to 18th is significant at this stage, so I don't foresee disaster, though I'm confident the squad will have a right go at it.

Brighton and Barcodes at home are the only games I would fancy us to win happen we were playing either of them next Saturday.

Until we play those teams, I honestly do not see where the next win is coming from.

I think we should be able to get the 38ish points I reckon will be enough to stay alive.

But I also think it will be a protracted struggle to gain them and we are deffo relegation dark horses IMO.

Mmm.2 points out of the last 15 isn't good. Same form as Huddersfield and Brighton.

No club is too good or too big to go down, we are sinking, luckily(hopefully) there are also other terrible sides in the league, I wouldn't say we are any better than any of them at this juncture.

...Watford with a better last five games record just sacked their manager.......
