Jack Rodwell

Leon Osman was great. Osman at his peak would look like an absolute baller in this team. Two footed, well balanced, goal threat, effort every game, some of our midfielders haven’t got even one of these. ‘Ah yeah lad but he got pushed off the ball and wasn’t Messi therefore he was a grass’.

As for Rodwell he should have been a centreback. Imagine if we’d played Stones or Holgate in midfield? Remember Jags trying to play there? Too late now however.

No surprise to me that we started to look turd under Martinez once Osman ( who could actually play a bit of togger ) were coming to the end of his career and wasn't replaced.

He'd look like bloody Paul Scholes in our current set up compared to what we currently offer.

Mr phenomenal replaced Osman and Pienaar with Cleverley Kone Etoo and Atsu then wondered why we didn’t play any decent football in the second season (until Osman returned and Lennon gave us a boost).

We’ve never replaced those types of playmakers like Arteta Pienaar Osman. Barkley was the big hope but always played better if surrounded by someone to take the pressure off him (those two in 13/14, Davies under Koeman). If we keep buying defensive midfielders who can’t pass forward then our front line can be as good as you want, it will never get the right service.

We need footballers from 1-11. Currently we have one in Holgate in defence, probably only Lookman, Vlasic (who don’t play) and Rooney in midfield (although he is too slow) and potentially Tosun up front. Nowhere near enough

Doesn't want to be 'jobless' so won't cancel his contract

In another breath thinks he can get back into the England squad lol if you were that good you wouldn't end up 'jobless'

Coming out in the newspaper acting like he's got £30.71 in the bank

Who here would walk away from 70K per week for training only? Thought not.
Don't take wet mate.
If you really wanted first team action
AND
You were 25M to the good already.
AND
Somebody else (rumoured to be Preston) were going to pay you the going Preston rate... still in joe public's wages terms, a decent screw.
You'd be having a quiet word here and there about sloping off and sod the 70k
All depends on how keen you really are

He's never really looked keen though has he? I'm in agreement with you but the lad doesn't ever strike you as the type who'll run through brick walls. Enough just to expect him to run tbh. Why this is up as a thread I've no idea, anyone suggesting we take him back wants certifying.

While he may not have had the best start to his Everton career.. I do think Siggurdsson can be considered a footballer.

Has no pace, no left foot, first touch is poor, no agility whatsoever, no dribbling skills. Apart from having a good right foot swinger what exactly does he do?

I cba looking up what year it was but that week when we beat Chelsea, Sporting Lisbon and Man United on the bounce and Osman bossed all three games was great. I think he played as a proper center mid in those games too because of injuries.

He must lie awake at night wondering what might have been if he'd been played centrally more often. He always looked great there but he could never unseat Arteta and Cahill in either of their respective roles.
