How do you know this + surely if he was refusing to play he would be fined and in breach of contract

Basically going to be the Cuco Martina option for us...

If Rodwell had Davies desire he'd have been a top player.

Grayson said that Rodwell had told him he wasn’t ‘mentally’ ready to play in midfield.

Edit ‘psychologically and maybe physically, he doesn’t feel up to playing in midfield’

That's got to be the strangest thing I've ever read. You know a footballer, more specifically a midfielder, is finished when he can't be arsed playing midfield.

He was always overrated by our fans and the sports media who were absolutely desperate for Man Utd to buy him, "next Ferdinand" were usually the words associated with him which gets more laughable every time you see it. That being said I don't wish for eternal hardship and misery for Jack like I do for Ratsnake Barkley however.

..other than a performance against Manchester United, I always thought Rodwell was a ‘safe’ player. The really good ones take the ball on the spin but he almost always played it the way he was facing, which is fine for keeping possession but wasn’t a threat. Folk won’t like this, but Leon Osman was brilliant at taking the ball on the turn enabling us to turn defence into attack.

Leon Osman was great. Osman at his peak would look like an absolute baller in this team. Two footed, well balanced, goal threat, effort every game, some of our midfielders haven’t got even one of these. ‘Ah yeah lad but he got pushed off the ball and wasn’t Messi therefore he was a grass’.

As for Rodwell he should have been a centreback. Imagine if we’d played Stones or Holgate in midfield? Remember Jags trying to play there? Too late now however.

I watched that United game at the lads house on a delayed recording...and he set me up good style - sometime in thec2nd half he asked me, what do you reckon to Rodwell, how do you rate him. Short version was I didn't ( he got the long rant version ) just then he scored that goal...not bad for a nomark is he.

Proved right in the long run...I shall remind him next time i see him.
