Weirdly, the rumour going round is that he just doesn’t care for football, and he may just retire if he gets the payoff he desires!

You could see it with your own eyes that he wasn`t arsed about footy mate.

If I remember rightly, he got riled by something in a Derby and almost transformed into a different player, full on aggressive and went on the rampage - the player he should`ve been.

Really feel sorry for him, don't understand why anyone has delighted in quite frankly how rubbish his career has gone.

Signed a long-term contract and was then pushed at the door by the club and was promised the world by Man City who looked set to dominate at the time. The complete opposite of Barkley who has screwed us over big time to go sit on Chelsea's bench.

Have never wanted him back, he's never looked a player worth having for any top half side but he should be welcome if he ever wants to come back as a fan. Is apparently a very level headed lad who's never been a dirty or greedy player. Hope it somehow can work out for him somewhere now.

We got dead lucky in getting the money we did for him.

Too much Birkdale, not enough Kirkdale summed him up perfectly.

Played for my old team Birkdale Utd,although there's about a 20 odd year gaplolstill does the end of season awards, nice lad, yeah that phrase must haunt him though
