I’ve been saying for weeks that this team has real potential with regard to being relegated. A lot have dismissed such talk as far-fetched fantasy, but I remain steadfast in my confidence that this team can fulfill its potential.
The championship? Tough league. But, assuming the likes of Capt Jags, Bainsey, Ashley, Cuco, etc all commit to extended long term contracts, I genuinely think we can knock on the door of the top 6.

Thankfully there are far worse teams than us. It is likely to be a mirror image of the first half of the season a poor run against the top 6 then pick up points against the fodder.

I don’t care how deluded you are, or Anti-Allardyce, the answer is plain and simple, it’s no.

There’s too many teams who are worse than us, and seemingly were in our tough spell of the season.

West Brom, who until today hasn’t won since August. Swansea, Newcastle, Brighton, Huddersfield, that’s just a smattering of the teams who are substantially worse than us.

Let’s face it, we’re going to pick up points at home for the rest of the season. West Brom, Newcastle, Brighton are amongst some of the fodder to arrive at goodison before May.

MAGIC 40 lads. Let’s do it!

Yes because we are awful and the teams below have or are more likely to string results together this bag of bollocks.

All 9 of them? Like Newcastle who allowed themselves to be the only side to lose to Everton at home in the last 11 months? In their last 15 games they have won 3. Or Watford - 3 wins in 15. Stoke - 3 wins in 15, West Brom 1 in 15. Southampton 2 in 15.

In our last 15 games we have won 5.

Absolutely no way we are in a relegation battle because we have 27 points. We need 4 wins from 15 which is easily doable and even if we only manage say 10 more points (3 wins and a draw), I can't see all 9 of the sides below getting over 37 points.

If Southampton, Bournemouth, Stoke and West Brom managed only 21, 21, 20 and 19 points from 23 games, how are they going to get another 17+ points from just 15? It just won't happen, and there are other sides below us like Watford and Newcastle whose form is absolutely awful too.

We are not scoring, not creating, and shipping goals for fun. We are in freefall, if we don't beat one of WBA and Leicester, we will go to Arsenal and surrender and be right amongst the dross in the bottom half.

Nah we'll be sound, 34 points should be enough this season, some proper poor teams in this league at the moment and I include us in that. Difference is, we can can attract a £27m CL type player which hopefully should steer us clear of trouble, as long as we can get a shot on target.
