Yes.

"It might not work, it might not happen. It’s a massive problem in terms of your hoping, really, rather than being guaranteed he can hit the ground running. All his key performance data suggests he can but all the players brought in during the summer suggest it might not work"

Isn't that the same for every player brought in that isn't Ronaldo, Messi etc.?

I just saw it as him managing expectations and trying to take the pressure off the player a bit

Sounds like we're going to ease him in

I feel like it should be mandatory that a posters age should be displayed so that its easier to see if they are young and Naiive or legitamately a muppet

Some interperatations of Sams “might not work” comments are ridiculous

Ha Ha Ha.

What times we live in.

‘Data’ is that what scouts do now just google a players data and make 27mil decisions from there??

Data is far more accurate than watching a player once or twice.

However you also have to look at the type of team a player plays in to see if the data is relevant (how often he touches the ball, where he passes it, the types of goals he scores, how fast he is, where he moves). If we played exactly like Besiktas then his data would be more relevant. As we are complete opposites in style I worry that the data isn't.

You being Ageist mate? Not really on that.
Of course it's on. It's eminently sensible!

I remember thinking I knew everything in my twenties. It's not until you reach forty that you realise you know bugger all, and by the time you're fifty you can't remember what it was you never knew.

A player should watched at least 5-6 times maybe more.

League coming in from is the starter for me. Any league outside the big four of Italy, Spain, Germany and England are suspect. Obviously that's not to say all transfers from there are guaranteed to be successes.
