I’m pretty sure Fat Joe just can’t sanction a £300m funding project without the ok of the council cabinet.

Considering those members will have residents screaming at them about rats, pot holes, derelict buildings, anti social behaviour, littering etc etc there’s no way this can get pushed through

Tottenham has gotten a ton of tax breaks to build their new one.

What are you on about?

West Ham got an abomination for free. Which they don't actually own and can't fix. They are stuck in an awful stadium for the forseeable future.

Either way Man City and West Ham came about because of big events that were deemed to benefit the entire country. It's not really the same thing here where it's a stadium just for Everton.

Both us and Arsenal have had to fully fund our stadiums and have had no help from local councils for financing or even guarenteeing loans etc.

The Council have access to funding at much cheaper rates than what Everton can borrow at. The Council borrows the money, Everton make the repayments, and we pay the Council an extra amount for them providing the service. It’s a win win. The Council actually make money, Everton save money. Anderson has also said he would welcome a similar deal for LFC over any further stadium expansion at Anfield.
Yeah, the council is not just splashing down 300 million in cash. If they borrow the money, lets say at 2%, and then Everton pays them at a 3% rate, they make money every single month with no cost to them. The ONLY risk to the council is Everton being relegated and struggling to come up with the 15 million per year cost. They arent fronting money that could go towards other projects, they are borrowing money they wouldnt have borrowed otherwise.

Do people really believe that Joe Anderson is able to commit £300 million from the LCC budgmt without full approval from the council ?? Come on lads a bit of common sense eh...

.... which he hasn't managed to get so far, and won't.

Again, can someone point out when anyone from the council said they were paying money out of pocket for us?

from what was said when the stadium was first talked about was thew council are securing funding but not lending us the money they are guarantors for it and they are taking a fee for it. new accounts are being set up with the tv money going into it so the council know the funding is there to be paid. summit like that anyway

Look at the quality of these images...

@MoutsGoat been busy with his crayola set !

Allardyce says signing a striker was "the priority" and the arrival of Cenk Tosun can "bring us the goals we need to improve the position we are in."

Steve Walsh on Cenk Tosun: “We had people out to watch him and subsequently tracked him. We think he has attributes which will be good for us.

“We showed the information we had gathered to the new manager and coaching staff and we all sat together and decided this was the guy we needed.”
