ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The fee is almost irrelevant. There’s only so much world class talent out there and one of them good enough for Barca’s first team is walking out of their club. Even with the money it will be difficult to get someone immediately as good in. They may go for a prospect who in a few seasons could hit the same level but they won’t be at the same level. As soon as any of their players hit the top level Madrid Barca City or Chelsea will take them. If Salah continues they’ll get one more season at most out of him. Firmino and Mane probably crap enough to stay with them but if either of them suddenly hit god mode the same would happen.

Any replacement they get will likely also be CL cup tied so they’ve effectively lost their best player from their CL squad.

Absolute muppets, the way they all call him Phil like they’re his best mate, ‘kinhell
Not to defend them, however it's not much different from how numerous Evertonians called Lukaku Rom or when Barkley is referred to as Ross.

I'd be more inclined to highlight how their heads are absolutely wobbling like a tectonic tremor because someone would want to leave them.

But, but, Barca have tapped him up so we should complain... errr let's not mention van Dijk shall we? He's betrayed us... Suarez anyone?

It's also wonderful to see that their self-believed moral high ground quickly vanishes when they're unable to be magnanimous about him going.

He's not a Red, he's gone to one of the major clubs in the entire world and he's gone for a fair wedge, but still he's betrayed them. Farcical!

Mate they have already spent the Coutinho money, you not think it slightly odd it a club which has been trying to balance its spending the last few years suiddenly had no problem paying 66m for a player who won't join them till the next season and then paid 75m for a centre back, a total which adds up almost exactly to what they have just sold Coutinho for?

Don't get your hopes up about a new rs spending spree, you will be crying worse than that lot did at Crystandbul otherwise :)

I’m not to worried about them to be honest! If they get Mahrez don’t understand where he would fit in. He’s not a replacement for Countinho. Goretzka would be a great signing for them if they get him though. He’s direct, powerful on the ball, can string passes all over the place. Can tackle. With them signing Van Dijk they will still be dodgy at the back. The style of football and energy they play at will always give good organised teams chances against them.

They’ve totally had to sell to buy though.

An absurd amount of money, the speed at which the transfer market has become ridiculous is well....ridiculous. No doubt we will be treated to the usual tears and anger anytime a player has the cheek to want to better themselves at that club but they just simply aren't as big as they believe.

I was going to comment on the lack of loyalty in football these days and how it's only the local players you could expect to stay but then Ross Barkley so yeah. Got to hope they don't reinvest wisely.
