Went to Italy for 2 weeks during the vital time in the summer transfer window, came back with nothing.

Gone to Turkey as part of a delegation...

its all about topping his tan up lads, nothing has been more important, the only unbalance issue he is dealing with is the tan on the top and underneath his arms.

ABSOLUTE BEAUT... cant believe he is still int he job.

What do you really know about what is going on in the club? You have no idea what parameters Walsh is having to work with which could explain a great deal regarding possible transfers.

I know his role is supposed to plan for the future of the club, to have a plan in place regardless of what manager is in charge of how the club is to attempt to play football, how the squad should be and what transfers we make.

Based on that, he is incompetent at his job - even if we just look at the transfers and planning for players leaving the club has made. The manager search proved this, we have no idea how we want to play football, we went for a passing manager, a high pressing manager and a percentage long ball manager. No consistency.

He was in Italy for a week "speaking with contacts" when we where in the middle of a drawn out negotiation with Swansea... I say negotiation, they said this is the price and we didn't agree with it and stuck to their guns. If he was half as good as he makes out, he would have been telling them to stick it and looking for alternatives.

If that isnt his role, like a traditional DoF - he should be demoted to head scout, because he shouldn't be in charge of anything else.

Rhubarb, as I have stated you have no idea what parameters he is having to work to, no information at all on the conduct of transfer negotiations, no idea on what financial restrictions may be in place so in summary you know sod all.

The actual blame is probably back with the board not Walsh. He may have made many suggestions to the board but not followed up as I said you know sod all.

And you know different? You are making assumptions they aren't his "parameters".

Apologies though, his parameters are obviously not a traditional DoF's.

He's spunked 200 mil away in 18 months, I suspect he wasn't working with any financial restraints

No mate, the fact is none of us know what the hell is going on inside the club. Unlike before things got leaked but not know. We just have absolutely no idea what is happening behind the scenes.

So what you're saying then, is in your opinion what I am saying is wrong.

Sound, just cos you know your post made it sound like you knew what was going on by saying I knew sod all...

He is not operating like a traditional DoF, and their normal tasks and responsibilities... whether thats what he has been tasked to do at the club is a different matter, in which case he shouldn't be in that role.

Exactly.

Regardless of whether it was sell-to-buy or not, he had £200m to spend on players. That's what, £18-19m per player for an entire starting eleven, which up until this summer would have been more than most club's record fee.

We've ended up with not even one semi-decent centreforward, Cuco at left back, Jagielka still playing, youngsters massively promoted above their ability....

Dreadful stuff. £11m for Lookman and he never even plays.

Sorry mate, you misunderstood me, we all know sod all about what is going on in this club, there are now no leaks except deliberate ones full of misinformation, DaveK also points that out many times.

So if it was all the big bad Dutchmens fault, what on earth is this fraud Walshs actual role?

Come on some like KLassen were down to RK apparently, as I said to Chazzle none of us really knows what the hell is going on in the club behind the scenes so how can we draw any conclusions, only on what the club actually reveal IDC.

I know one of the U23 scouts and I can never get anything out of him about what is going on and he does spend a lot of time travelling but most of all at Finch Farm.

Yeah some would've been purely down to moonhead but it's an easy cop out to blame everything on him, Walsh is equally culpable, it's his area, he would've had a big say along with koeman not to mention it's widely acknowledged he's part of the team that negotiates the deals, in that regards no one can argue we've not massively overspent on bang average players.

And as Charlie said, wasn't part of Walshs role to plan out the future of Everton regardless of whoever the coach was, doesn't seem to be any planning going on, we're living on a wing and a prayer atm

..I agree that he has to be culpable for the group of players we’ve got but what I don’t know is the level of culpability. It appears Moshiri blamed Koeman and there was reports that Walsh is on a ‘final warning’.
