Is he really that good that it would make a difference if we were gazumped? More likely he's one of the only players available in that position and if we strike out on him we really are up the creek.
Hence we've got to pay through the nose for him.
Very, very similar situation to Yarmolenko this. Wonder what he's doing these days...

We have to wait and see. We're all naturally cautious after last summer's spending failures but IF he arrives , let's give the lad a chance .

I thought he was having a pretty decent season personally at Dortmund. @Borussin could tell you more.

But I honestly hope we miss out on Tosun. Pointless purchase when the manager refuses to commit numbers forward.

Whether Tosun is the answer, we'll have to wait and see, but you hope we miss out on him!? I'd like to think he's not going to be the only guy we sign mate, hopefully we get an attacking left back for starters along with a faster centre back to push us up the pitch. But I'm sure you'll agree that doing nothing at all would be a much worse option than actually looking to upgrade our striker?

Definitely need a left back........possibly more important than a striker

Talks with West Ham continued late into the night. Moyes wants this lad and whilst so does Sam, Andy Carroll is seen as his primary option.

Walsh not happy about it after he flew to Constantinople to finalise a deal for his target. He's told the club he's having two weeks in Turkey and to sort themselves out.

he's been doing reasonably well, a bit up and down you could say - which is sort of like the whole team really the first half of the season
I think he's finding it a significant adjustment, which is understandable as he's spent his whole career in Ukraine and then moving at the age of 27 to a new team, country and league. But he's playing regularly, and has a few goals and assists to his name, so there is no reason why he can't have a good rest of the season after winter break.
