The vast majority are speculators, that's all mate. They have no more idea of the true ( long-term ) value of Bitcoin than you or I.

On a slightly different tack. Kev will fall under one of the following categories :-

  • Really does have 40 bitcoins and 40 bitcoin cash thingies, in which case, given he paid something in the region of an average of 1000 USD for the Bitcoins, he's still well in profit, and they're unlikely to drop back to 1000 USD, so he'll remain in profit and the only question is whether or not he'll end up with a life changing amount
  • He's a complete fantasist or
  • He's somewhere in between and is exaggerating his position on the internet simply because he can
Kev's previous postings on GOT suggest he's a WUM, and, fair play to him, he's a pretty good one, so I'd guess he's the latter option. He's probably got about 4 bitcoins rather than 40 though.

My 200k portfolio includes Chorley Cake, but I havn't yet branched out to ChorleyCoin.

You can in selected places but it's largely a digital currency. And undoubtedly a bubble that's waiting to pop or has just began to.

Anyone reading this who has managed to turn a potential profit on this nonsense should get out now. Cash in. Don't get greedy - it's so obviously a massive bubble.
