Leon Osman and Tony Hibbert

I think Hibbert is just 10 years to late for the Prem, a solid full back but pretty unadventurous. He is however an ambassador for the club and a model pro that others would be wise to emulate. Football needs more players like him, one club English men that give there all for the club from start to finish. He has the mental and physical attributes required defensively but doesn't carry any confidence over the half way line and modern football relys on fullbacks to create the attacking width.
Ossie has the rapor with the fans similar to Cahills and will always be loved for his jovial ways. A good footballer that has balance, poise and ball retention abilities due to his lower centre of gravity. Unfortunatly can be knocked of the ball and lacks outright pace. Has the ability to play slide rule passes and an eye for goal. Another great player to have around and I would love to see him stay at the club passed retirement, brings togetherness and I think would be influencial towards the youth set up.
Don't think these players will be around the first team as much with a fully fit squad, but will provide us with a strong bench or cup players along with Mucha, Yobo, Beckford, Coleman and hopefully Geuye and Silva.

They are both on for a testimonial aren't they? I like them both, Hibbert is a very solid defender on the deck. And Osman has shown himself to be the glue the midfield is stuck together with when it is functioning like a swiss watch.

Alright Suits, how many is this now? I make it 4? or is it 5?

Are you serious? Have you not seen Ossie play in the middle. Its his best position. I can even tell you what he does. He beats two players (he can't beat three) he makes space, he then looks up (note England players) and more time than not makes a telling pass.

Next time he plays in the middle, watch him play, or replay some of our great games from last season when he played in the middle.

As for Hibbo. As I said before, Coleman will have a job displacing him. "Offers nothing going forward?" Go watch the games. He goes forward as much as Baines, his crosses have improved immeasurably, oh, cripes he's even had an assist or two. And his game v Portsmouth? If you didn't see it, get a video. A great performance.

The only thing I'll agree with you on is that, hopefully the young lions will step up, improve those areas and we can be grateful that we have two loyal academy players who don't try and rip the club off at the first loophole they find.

i agree Ossie's best position is in the middle...but he won't get in ahead of Felli, arteta, Rodwell or cahill....and given he is versatile, then have him on the bench. AnD Hibbert, agreed he has improved, but jesus, how many moves break down when the ball reaches him. How many bad crosses...and he is SLOW. His positioning saves him as a defender. Keep him in the squad, see how Coleman goes preseason, maybe start the season with Coleman with Hibbert as back up. I will say though that Hibbert doesn't do too badly seeing that playing with ossie leaves him exposed, but we need to get up to the next level now and unfortunately, there is no room for sentiment.

they can both stay at the club for life for me, great servants who will always do a job for you if called upon. As we progress there playing time should deminish but until they go to Moyes and say "Boss, I want to leave to get more time on the pitch" they are good enough squad players for me.

Coleman is not yet ready

We don't have a better right back than Hibbert, so until we get one, the job is his isn't it? As for Osman, if he could play at his best every week, he would be worth a fortune. I'd like to see him in the middle more often. Not the most consistent player.

Coleman??
