get in. it's a tough decision for the ref (even if he saw the tip). Because it doesn't matter that he's touched the ball, he's taken out the striker who's clear on goal. You see plenty of fouls these days where a player tackles, but takes the player out in their follow through. I don't agree that those should be fouls, but if they're given, the pen is correct.

Like Poll said, DCL would still have got to the ball if he hadn't been taken out by Hart, therefore it has to be given as a pen as Hart's prevented a goalscoring opportunity and isn't in control of the ball.
 
I just dont understand how ANY manager can think that dropping so far off defensively against a bad side is going to do anything but help them gain confidence?


There is no one else in that defence or midfield that can pick a forward pass......that might just be the reason he is dropping deep....to try and start play
