2017/18 Davy Klaassen

Loan back to Ajax in January then an undisclosed fee. Only outcome I can foresee.

I don't think that Klaassen moving back to Ajax is a realistic scenario. Last year, Siem de Jong offered himself to Ajax before moving to PSV but was rejected basically because we had Klaassen. This year, we got Siem back, so I guess Overmars won't be too keen on signing Davy. Obviously they want just one of those two players and that is a reasonable policy. I personally wouldn't want him back as of now, he is a decent player for Eredivisie standards but not good enough to justify blocking space for younger and more talented players.

Furthermore, from his perception it would be kind of sad to move back after just 6 months abroad. More likely seems to me that he will be loaned out/sold to a mid level Bundesliga team. A few years in a slightly less demanding league and taking it from there would be his best option

Look mate just hand us back the £25 million, take him back, and we won’t say any more about it.

Fair enough, you know a lot more about possible destinations than I do. I just think his future lies away from Goodison Park. It's a real shame because there probably is a player in there somewhere. We just don't have the time for him to show it.

In a normal summer where you bring in 3/4 players we'd have probably been able to invest more time in him but the situation is what it is.

Hes not been given a fair crack of the whip, Why not play him in front of the back 4 where he can distribute the ball forward with a bit more time and space. Hes a much better distributor than guaye and Morgan and we need some to put a foot on the ball in the middle of the park. We need some brains in there right now. Not a bunch of headless chickens that we appear to have.
