Here's the fella Joey. It was customary for the more boisterous lads in the 60's to stay behind on the terraces of Gwladys Street after the final home game. Just having a laugh, chanting etc, it usually ended with Walrus & his men 'persuading' the lads to leave - I suppose they just wanted to go home. He was so tall, and with his big muzzy, was very well known to all the fans at both clubs. Whenever he patrolled in front of the Street End there would always be a chorus - 'Walrus! Walrus!'

Thanks found it as the link did not work what a likeable character he was by both sets of fans - his millatary record awards do not surprise me his command of the mass crowds in those days he was phenomenal character

It's more a case of crowd indifference at Goodison these days.

It is as a rule but if the Watford game showed anything it's that the fans will get behind the players if they see them showing fight.

Walked past the Malmaison this morning on my way to work, there was quite a few outside there waiting for a minibus it looked like with some serious head bandaging... (they where wearing colours so it wasn't just some random weirdos) hahahaha.

I hate the bouncers in Concert Square. I got threw out of Levels there the other year for nothing. Left a big bruise on my arm, too.

Rather have them down there ripping things up than anywhere decent
