No. But only on the basis that if he was already our permanent Manager, he is showing the type of form that would have us calling for him to be sacked. Although I am happy to see him get a couple more games to see if this is a corner turning moment and to see if he has learnt from his mistakes.

Not for me that team selection today put me off, even before they scored everybody around me in the park end was saying what was that about there wasn't anything to suggested he should get it full time.

No way, not ready yet, and not sure he will at all. Several big mistakes already:

  1. Expecting Jagielka and Williams to cope with Leicester's pace
  2. Reverting to a Koeman type shape after 45 mins at Leicester. Didn't end up conceding but little threat of us scoring as a result
  3. Left out Lookman (would include Vlasic too, but getting the feeling there is more to that than we know about)
  4. Played players out of position repeatedly

In light of Unsworth's 4 games as caretaker manager do you want him to take permanent charge? It is currently believed he is on the shortlist.

Not voting is the cheese-on-toast option. You can change your vote if the next game goes well/tits-up.

I love him to bits, but it's a no for me.

Another season with the U23's, then go away and manage at a lower level to add to his experience and then, if that goes well, he'll have proved he's ready.

I will say this though, if I had to choose between Rhino and Dunc as a future Everton manager, I'd choose Rhino all day.

No, sorry David lad. Just don't think he's tactically adept enough. Doesn't know his best team and hasn't got a team selection correct yet tbh. Subs saved his bacon today. Only so far we can ride the wave of euphoria after today. Only so far "getting the club" will take us. We need an established manager. We may be out of the bottom three but that can soon change. We were second best again today for the most part.

This is exactly what he needs. Cut his ties with us for a while. Go out and learn his trade, maybe make a name for himself. Sure we'd have him back then if he proved good enough.

Howard Kendall ( player ) manager at Blackburn is the obvious example. Learnt his trade, came home and, eventually, came good.

Unsworth is no Kendall like, but he's no mug. The reason Ferguson will never ( opinion here ) be Everton manager is because he loves the club too much to leave and test himself elsewhere in management. Unsworth's way smarter than Dunc, so I'm pretty sure, sooner or later, he'll look for a more responsible position.
