When it's said that the owner of a business is looking to carry out a root and branch assessment of their business they're not including themselves. The clear implication is that someone down the line ballsed things up and there's no flies on him.

He is in deflect mode because he knows most of us are looking at the top and finding it wanting.

Ah right, fair enough, I missed the nuance of what you were getting at !

Mind you, that "Root and branch" stuff is just one line in an article which looks like it's only made into Mirror Group sites, so, though you could argue it was deflective, I think you're giving it more focus than it's worth.

More important is getting the next managerial appointment right, and right includes making sure that manager can have a good working relationship with Walsh and that it's clear who does what. If Moshiri now appoints a manager who he doesn't see gelling with Walsh, then Walsh has to go.

If Moshiri's got one eye on the next stage of the waterfront development ( so not just our stadium ), then he needs to get the playing side of the club shorted sharpish. Developers won't want to be next door to a mediocre team struggling in the Premier League.

he isn't going to start now, the only money he has spent is from sales, be interesting on Sunday if he is there, he may well feel the full force of an angry goodison
Don't think he'll be the only one to feel it.

How much blame does the board take for not funding a striker and defender?Obviously Koeman and or Walsh for prioritising number tens. But those were our glaring weaknesses and I felt the summer spending slowed to a halt during the Siggy saga. When we all knew those were the most urgent priorities. I felt we were waiting on Ross to go to fund a last minute striker for one. Mosh's sky interview sounded like he was trying to convince himself that we'd spent well.
