David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

As with anything Everton, I hope the appointment of Unsworth turns out to be a master stroke. I hope it starts today with committed performance against Leicester. 3 points would be good but I would like to see a team trying and playing a system which looks like it might win games.
Good luck to him.

I would love Rhino to guide us to a winning run in the next month and to get the job. I don't buy into this idea that you've got to jet in some big name with CL experience to buy glory. How do you think clubs got by before the Premier League era ? They built from the roots. And you know what, that's not a bad model for success. Unsworth's not just our man, he's a good fit, as you say. He comes with a good record of developing young players and building a winning team. He gets us, he communicates well with the fans. And early signs are that the players respond to him well too. The mood around the club is already changing, and that's got to be a positive thing.
True. The mood only stays that way if he delivers. Lets hope he does. Otherwise we will be looking more prominent names.

He's already done what he needed to do in the first week imo. Realistically going into the Chelsea game we were massive underdogs on the backs of performances we've had this season. He's come in, got the players working and playing for each other so much so that the second half against Chelsea is the best we've played all season.

I'm not saying he's worked miracles or anything but he's done the first thing he needed to do, get the players and the fans back on board and bring the club back together. Now he needs some performances and points. If he can get a run of results going and get the confidence up then there's no reason we can't push on with him at the helm. We have a good squad here, on paper we still have a top 7 squad even with the lack of options we've got up front.

See how he does in the next 4 weeks and if it's not working get the "big name" in in time to evaluate the squad and get his targets lined up for January. I genuinely don't care who we go with as manager but like big Dave said in his first presso we need a winning manager.

Him and Ebrell look like a pair of tits out there
Get rid
Completely out of his depth
Couldn’t play football and can’t manage
Massive no

He's not ready, that 45 minutes alone just proved it. Playing Rooney at all costs, playing a high line against a pacy side, starting Lennon and Mirallas who both too crap two managers ago.

He needs to go out into the football world and get build a CV. If we give him the job permanently we're pretty much in for a very black clouded season.
