David Unsworth - Temporary Manager

I wonder if hes going to be tempted to bring Feeney into the squad and also work with Holgate for CB as that backline definitely needs a bit of freshening up.

I hope the players take a bit of confidence from the 2nd half, good to see we remembered how to string more than 3 passes together and create chances as it's been a while.

Plenty of work for him to do but he was on a hiding to nothing tonight and probabky felt he needed to keep it tight just to instill some confidence in the players

We need our injuries to clear up very soon. I'm extremely frustrated at the minute with how woeful we are and the dire position were in, but it is what it is. We need time and to write this season off. We need Funes (yes actual funes), Barkley, Bolasie, and most of all Coleman back soon. Very soon. And we need to pull ourselves to midtable and safety. Hopefully Unsy can do that but I'm worried and it's far from certain.

Pickford
Coleman Keane Funes Baines
Schneiderlein
Bolasie Barkley Siguurdson Vlasic
DCL

A side like that has so much more to it. We need them all back. The board need to deliver a striker. And the board need to learn from this disgraceful last 6 months. They owe us all.

Leicester game is the test for me. Vastly improved tonight but Chelsea were there to get at. Football is all about building momentum, if we get beat by Leicester it's difficult to see Unsworth getting the job.

who said it was?
koeman had plenty of experience, so did martinez, so did moyes etc what have we won with any of them?
experience isnt everything

Do you really want to put a rookie manager into a team that has the worst form in the league, the most unbalanced squad, lacking in any confidence and is continually losing matches to the extent that we are in the relegation zone? We are in a relegation battle, we can't keep kidding ourselves we will string wins together the way we have played all season.

If he wasn't such a nice feller and a blue, would people be so pro-Unsworth?
Is an under 23 manager with no experience the very best we can get?

We’re not in a relegation battle.

Unsworth ticks a lot of boxes for me, but we’ll see more of him in the next couple of weeks. I wouldn’t right him off just yet.

I too think it's a big ask for unsworth. But in his press interview unsworth immediately lifted the fanbase about how passionate he is about the club and the prospect of the job. Judging by our efffoets tonight, he's lifted also the morale of the players who must have been at such a low ebb, following Sunday's thrashing. He might well not be the man for the job (full time) but he is the right man at this time to lift the players and the fanbase.
