David Unsworth appreciation thread

Why not? Have you seen our opponents? We should be beating ALL those teams at least 2-0 (Im not counting the Chelsea game).

And I do not think me wanting Ancelotti insane, I want what is best for our football club, and that is definitely NOT Unsworth at this point in time.

you don't want unsworth but then say you want 2 completely opposite types of manager.

Talk about flim flamming around

No, I mean just league games. And you know that's what I mean.

Im sorry, I just can not see Unsworth getting us high up the table, attracting players in January (that will be hard enough for the best of them, 100 times harder for an untried, inexperienced interim manager). And can you see him getting us into the top 4 next season, or even winning a cup? I Cant. And of course no manager would guarantee success. But I know who I have more confidence in, and its a MUCH more experienced manager than Unsworth.
If Unsworth does get the job till, say, the end of November and is doing reasonably well, ie out of the relegation area and moving up the table, I see no reason not to run with him to the end of the season and look at it again then. The only downer then would be if the board do bring in a "name" then I think Unsy would leave. IMHO.

I don't see Unsworth full time as the ambitious option at this point. And not convinced we should appoint based on new manager bounce we might get. But least we can all get behind him and have some pride in the interim.

There are very few "sure" things in management , managers that will almost guarantee success.
Those managers are largely with the top clubs already and are not going to Everton.

We could then go for big names like Ancelotti or promising young managers like Dyche or Howe. OF course we could also go for somebody like Sam Allyrdyce that would guarantee us survival , but what about the longer term ?

Unsworth knows the club and the players, he has been around the club and been around Finch Farm and I am sure has contact with the players , senior and junior , on a daily basis. He also has shown he works well with players, improves them and can win trophies, albeit at reserve level.

He deserves the chance and has earned it with his success at underage level , if it isn't working then another man can be brought in, but if he isn't at least considered then he knows he would have to leave to ever get a chance at management.
