Expecting a 2-0 victory on weds playing beautiful football vis a vis the U23s....also v leicester Sat....no excuses..rk has gone now.
Can't happen we're playing Sunday lol but joking aside even Pep wouldn't have us playing beautiful football in that timescale and I consider him the best manager going!

I'm a big fan of Unsworth but can't see him making a massive impact in next 2 away games just because of the practicalities involved. Take away the travelling time and how many coaching sessions is he going to be able to fit in and this is a team that needs a lot of coaching to get things right!

I think the whole squad will be galvanised and we will win both games.

Who cares about results of U23 games anyway? And why we are magically inclined to promote our own men as the manager, considering that would seriously hurt player recruitment (except youths) in every way?

I’d rather Unsworth was given a home tie against a mid table side to get us going, but I suppose Chelsea away provides an opportunity to start with an enormous bang - however unlikely.

Let’s be honest he’s three games away from either being canonized or vilified.

Fickle bunch Everton fans.

No he's not. Everyone with half a brain cell in their heads knows this mess is not his doing, and he will be afforded the benefit of the doubt.

..i’d imagine the conversation with Unsworth asking him to take temporary charge was not straightforward. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’s made demands, perhaps financial but more specifically about wanting the permanent post. If he’s been asked to take temporary charge until they bring somebody else in I wouldn’t be surprised if Unsworth said no.

The demands might be that he wants a run of games to prove himself.

And if that's the case Eggs, fair bloody enough I say. He's already been made a caretaker manager once, then he led the Under-23's to glory. The man will want to show he has ambition, not to take over to plug a gap before disappearing back into the shadows. And personally, I think he deserves to have some faith shown in him by the hierarchy.
